Abstract

Access to clean drinking water is a fundamental necessity for human survival, yet many major cities struggle with providing it. In places like Bengaluru, water is primarily supplied through expensive tankers due to scarcity. Households often rely on water cans, but these can be difficult to empty quickly due to air-locking. To address this issue, a new design includes an air vent to prevent air-locking and make the process more efficient. This innovation not only benefits households, but also has the potential to reduce water spillage when filling small jars. 4 Claims & 4 Figures

Specification

Description:WATER-CAN WITH MOUTH-PIECE
Field of Invention
The present invention pertains to the design water-can with Mouth-piece, which can be used to supply water to the households in metropolitan cities. The invention aims to improve the water supply system by reducing the supply time. For this, the water-can is provided with a mouth piece through which the air blockages can be removed while transferring the water from the can.

Background of the Invention
Drinking Water is one of the basic essentials for the survival of the human being. However, most of the metropolitan cities have the availability and accessibility of clean drinking water as one of the major challenges. In cities like Bengaluru, the water supply depends purely on water tankers which are charging very high price per tank due to scarcity of the drinking water. For household purpose, they commonly use water cans(bubbles) to deliver the water. The agents deliver these bubbles at doorstep or individuals bring it to their home from the stores. The major problem with these bubbles is that, it usually takes more time to empty these cans due to water air-locking at the time of emptying them. The person emptying these bubbles experience more strain as it takes more time to empty it. The present design ensure that the water leaves the bubbles without any air-locking and hence, reduce the time to empty the bubble. This was achieved by including an air vent on the surface of the bubble. The air vent allows to air to escape avoiding the air-locks. This can also be used to fill small jars to eliminate the water spillage.
Applications,
1. Home Use: Many households use large water cans like this to store purified water for drinking and cooking. The smaller mouth-piece cap allows for easy access without having to remove the entire lid.
2. Office Use: Offices often place such water cans in water coolers or dispensers. The handle makes it easy to lift and place the can into a cooler, and the secure caps ensure the water remains hygienic.
3. Outdoor/Travel Use: The design, with its sturdy handle and secure caps, suggests that it could also be used in outdoor activities, such as camping or picnics, where a reliable source of drinking water is needed.
Description of Prior Art
Numerous studies have concentrated on design and development of the water-can. These are also called as containers.
The ornamental design of the water- bottle which the most widely used design of the water-can was proposed by Jay M. Deichler et al. 2003 (US D471457S). It is the base design for the current invention. The more common way of accessing of water from the container (can) was suggested by Beaver et al. 2005, (USD507184S). They considered a wider opening from the top to provide access to use water using smaller containers.
Archer 2019 (USD856085S) suggested to provide a handle by providing a slot and gap between the side of the surface of the 1-gallon bottle which makes it handy to carry. David Jerome Hutts et al, 2023, (USD986066S1) modified the design with lot of groves, which improved the handling qualities of the container.
Summary of the Invention
The present invention aims to provide a solution for reducing supply time of the drinking water in households.
The specific objective of the invention is to modify the existing water-can and add a mouth piece which acts as a vent to remove airlocks while supplying the water.

Brief Description of Drawings
The invention will be described in detail with reference to the exemplary embodiments shown in the figures wherein:

Figure 3: Nomenclature of Water-can with Mouth Piece
Figure 4: All Views of Water-can with Mouth Piece

Detailed Description of the Invention
The embodiment of the present disclosure provides a water-can with Mouth-piece. The primary structure is the Water-can (1) which is a large cylindrical container, likely designed to hold a substantial volume of water. These types of cans are often used for storing purified or drinking water in homes, offices, or places where water is consumed regularly by a group of people. The water-can (1) is made from high-quality plastic, which is commonly used in water containers because of its durability, lightweight nature, and corrosion resistance. Plastics such as high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polycarbonate which are EPA free virgin plastic material can be employed due to their food-grade quality and ability to safely hold drinking water without leaching harmful chemicals.
The water-can (1) has a capacity of 20 Liters, typical for home or office water cans. The design of the water-can (1) is sleek, with reinforced sections that likely help it maintain its structural integrity when full of water. These reinforcement ridges help to prevent deforming under pressure and ensure it remains sturdy during transport or use.
Attached to the side of the water-can is the Handle (3) which is integrated with the main frame of the water-can (1). It is an integral part which improves the overall usability and mobility of the water-can (1). The handle (3) is strategically placed about halfway down the length of the water-can (1), ensuring a balanced and comfortable grip for carrying. It provides the necessary grip while dispensing the water from the water-can (1). It is sturdy and ergonomically designed. It is made from the same material as the water-can (1) to ensure durability and consistency.
The top of the can is labeled as the Mouth of Can (2) and it is one of the most essential parts of this design. The mouth serves as the opening through which the water-can be filled or dispensed. The mouth may also accommodate pump systems making it versatile to use directly without transferring water to another container. This component is threaded, enabling secure attachment of cap of the mouth (5).
The Mouthpiece (4) is vital feature in this design, located near the upper part of the water-can (1). It is integral part of the water-can (1). It is a smaller opening used for controlled pouring or dispensing of water. It not only helps in controlled pouring of the water rather it helps in dispensing water from the mouth of can (2) at faster speeds. Mouthpiece (4) provides additional passage for airgaps to escape while dispensing the water.
The cap for mouth (5) snugly fits over the mouth of can (2). The cap for mouth (5) is provided with internal threading which fit snugly over the mouth of the can, creating a watertight seal. This prevents contaminants such as dust or bacteria from entering the water-can (1) and protects the water inside from spoiling. It also prevents spills during transportation. Similar to water-can (1) the cap is also made from food grade plastic.
The final component is the Mouth-Piece Cap (6) which covers the smaller mouthpiece (4). Similar to the main cap, the mouthpiece cap is designed to provide a watertight seal over the smaller outlet. This is essential for preventing water from leaking when the water-can (1) is not in use. The Mouth-Piece cap (6) can be easily opened or closed, likely with a simple twist mechanism, allowing for quick access to the mouthpiece when needed. It is also made of EPA free Virgin Plastic.
The water-can depicted in the figure 1 is highly functional, with careful consideration given to both its aesthetic and practical aspects. Each component-from the handle to the caps-serves a specific purpose, aimed at making the storage and dispensing of water as convenient and safe as possible.
The design indicates that the can is meant for regular, everyday use, whether in a home, office, or outdoor setting. Its robust build ensures that it can withstand the rigors of being filled, transported, and used repeatedly without suffering damage or leakage.
With reference to figure 1, the components of water-can with mouth-piece are presented in the front view. This indicates

 Water-can (1)
 Mouth-piece (4)
 Handle (3)
 Cap for Mouth (5)
 Mouth of can (2)
 Mouth Piece Cap (6)
Thus, the design ensures that the water-can be transferred with less time from the water-can to the vessel in the households.
