Specification
Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to laboratory equipment and microbiology, specifically a modified petri plate with enhanced features for improved culture handling in laboratory and industrial settings. The invention introduces an auto-lock system and integrates moisture-absorbing materials and microorganism-sensitive chip sensors for efficient and contamination-free use in cell and tissue culture applications.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Conventional petri plates are essential tools in laboratories, especially in cell and tissue culture work. However, these plates are prone to contamination and spillage due to inadequate sealing. Typically, parafilm is used to secure the lid and prevent spillage, but this method is unreliable at high temperatures and may contribute to contamination. Furthermore, existing petri plates lack features for condensation management and do not provide real-time contamination alerts. The Pluriplate addresses these issues by incorporating an advanced auto-locking mechanism to eliminate the need for parafilm, a moisture-absorbing layer for clear, condensate-free viewing, and microorganism-sensitive chip sensors that allow for instant detection of contaminants. These improvements make the Pluriplate a valuable tool in research and industrial microbiology.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This summary is provided to introduce a selection of concepts, in a simplified format, that are further described in the detailed description of the invention.
This summary is neither intended to identify key or essential inventive concepts of the invention and nor is it intended for determining the scope of the invention.
To further clarify advantages and features of the present invention, a more particular description of the invention will be rendered by reference to specific embodiments thereof, which is illustrated in the appended drawings. It is appreciated that these drawings depict only typical embodiments of the invention and are therefore not to be considered limiting of its scope. The invention will be described and explained with additional specificity and detail with the accompanying drawings.
The invention provides a versatile petri plate, called the Pluriplate, designed with a secure auto-locking system, a moisture-absorbing transparent layer for condensate-free media viewing, and microorganism-sensitive chip sensors for instant detection of contamination. The auto-lock mechanism holds the lid and plate together securely, preventing spillage even when the plate is inverted or dropped. The moisture-absorbing layer reduces condensation, ensuring clear visibility of the culture media. The chip sensors detect microorganisms in real-time, providing an immediate alert to contamination, thus supporting a cleaner, more reliable culture environment.

The Versatile Petri Plate, or Pluriplate, introduces a range of innovations aimed at improving the functionality and reliability of traditional petri dishes. At its core, the Pluriplate is designed with an auto-locking mechanism that secures the lid to the base, effectively eliminating the need for external sealing methods such as parafilm. This auto-lock mechanism is engineered to withstand typical laboratory movements, including inversion and minor impacts, ensuring the contents remain secure and preventing spillage.
Another key feature of the Pluriplate is its moisture-absorbing transparent layer, which is applied to the inner surface of the lid. This layer actively absorbs moisture, thereby preventing condensation from forming on the interior surfaces of the petri plate. The result is a clear, unobstructed view of the culture media, which is especially beneficial for observation and analysis. Made from abrasion-resistant materials, the transparent layer enhances durability and longevity, making it suitable for repeated use in laboratory environments.
In addition to the locking and moisture control features, the Pluriplate is equipped with microorganism-sensitive chip sensors embedded within the plate. These sensors provide real-time monitoring of the culture environment, allowing for the instant detection of contamination by microorganisms. When the sensors detect a contaminant, they send a signal, which can be monitored visually or electronically, alerting researchers to potential contamination immediately. This feature is particularly valuable for cell and tissue culture work, where contamination can compromise experimental results.
