UPDATE METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CELL GROUPS OF TERMINAL DEVICE IN DUAL CONNECTIVITY

Abstract

Disclosed in embodiments of the present invention is an update method for cell groups of a terminal device in dual connectivity, which is applied to the technical field of communications. A method performed by a source master node (MN) comprises: sending to one or more target MNs a master cell group (MCG) change request message used for requesting the one or more target MNs to prepare resources for a dual-connectivity terminal device. In this way, by means of negotiation of network nodes, the MCG and an SCG are simultaneously changed or the SCG is added while the MCG is changed, thereby improving the reliability of a mobility process of a terminal.
