Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to the field of natural language processing (NLP) and assistive technology, specifically concerning a machine learning-based system for real-time translation between spoken language and sign language.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] People who are deaf or hard of hearing often face difficulties communicating with those who do not know sign language. While various efforts have been made to provide subtitles or captions, these do not , Claims:1. A system (100) for bridging audio and sign language, comprising:
a speech processing module (102) for recognizing and converting spoken language into text;
a sign language generation module (104) for translating text into sign language gestures; and
a reverse interpretation module (106) for recognizing sign language gestures and translating them into spoken or written language.
2. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the speech processing module (102) adapts to regional dialects and user-specific linguistic preferences to enhance translation accuracy.
3. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the sign language generation module (104) translates recognized text into region-specific sign language gestures based on context.
4. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the reverse interpretation module (106) employs computer vision techniques to interpret sign language gestures in real-time.
