Specification

Description:FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to system of wadding of plastic bottles to secure its contents from pollutants. More particularly, the invention relates to manufacturing of plastic bottles that can have protective wadding adhered to it. The invention also related to plastic bottles that have an increased lip area to accommodate wadding.

BACKGROUND ART
Traditionally plastic bottles have a thick plastic material surrounding the mouth of the bottle so that wadding can be adhered to the mouth of the bottle. The thickness of the mouth of the bottle is thick enough for wad to adhere to the mouth of the bottle.

This leads to access material usage. The present invention proposes a solution to reduce material used for bottles with such mouths, while keeping intact the adhesive properties of the wadding.

OBJECT OF INVENTION
The main object of the invention is to provide a system for wadding of bottles with reduced material usage at the time of manufacturing of the bottles.

Yet another object of the invention is to provide a system wherein increased thickness of the sides of the neck of the bottle is not required for accommodating the wadding of the bottle.

Another object is to provide such a bottle for said system.

Yet another object is to provide a method for manufacturing of such a bottle.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION
The present invention discloses a system for wadding of bottles, wherein the bottles are manufactured by injection blow moulding or blow moulding techniques, characterised in that the mould comprises of a bottle neck, wherein the neck has a thicker upper lip compared to the thickness of the neck of the bottle. The wadding of the bottle is performed as the lip has larger surface area for the wads to adhere.

The invention also discloses such bottles used in the system.

Furthermore, the invention discloses a method of manufacturing such bottles for the system.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Figure 1 discloses a cross sectional view of the neck of the proposed bottle;
Figure 2 discloses a cross sectional view of the neck of a conventional bottle compared to a cross sectional view of the neck of the proposed bottle;
Figure 3 discloses wad for the said system;
Figure 4 discloses the top view of the lip of the bottle;
Figure 5 discloses one of the embodiments of the invention wherein the lip area is curved;
Figure 6 discloses one of the embodiments of the invention wherein the lip area is elongated for controlled flow of liquid from the bottle.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The present invention and its advantages will be better understood on studying the detailed description of an embodiment taken by way of non-limiting example and illustrated by the appended drawings in which:

The present invention introduces a system for wadding of plastic bottles.

Conventionally, wads are in the shape of the bottle opening and have adhesives around the boundary of the wads spread radially inwards. The wads are placed on the mouth of the bottles and pressure and heat is applied to adhere the wads on the mouth of the bottles.

The bottles for wadding have thick lip at the mouth of the bottles. The cross section of a conventional neck of a bottle shows that there is a lot more material being used on the neck and mouth for manufacturing of such bottles. In order to reduce the amount of material used for manufacturing of such bottles, the thickness of the mouth of the bottle is kept similar to the thickness of the body of the bottle, and the lip area is elongated to accommodate the wad.

In order to achieve the object of the invention to reduce the amount of material used, an enhanced system for wadding is proposed in the present invention.

The mouth of the bottle is made in an arched shaped structure. The thickness of neck area is reduced as compared to conventional bottles used for wadding. The opening of the bottle has a lip that is elongated and protrudes radially inwards. This provides enough surface area for the wadding to adhere to the mouth of the bottle. At the same time, the amount of material used is reduced.

As can be seen from Figure 2, there is a significant decrease of material. The cross sectional view of the proposed system depicts an arched shape structure of the neck of the bottle. The thickness of the neck of a conventional bottle used for wadding is compared to the neck of a bottle as proposed in the present invention.

The invention discloses various ways in which the wadding is placed on the bottle.

In one of the embodiment(s), the lip is curved upwards in order to adjust for bending down at the time of adhering the said wadding. The pressure applied on the wad at the time of wadding makes the lip bend down and helps adhere to the lip of the bottle with greater adhesive strength. Such embodiment is disclosed in Figure 5.

In another one of the embodiments, the lip of the bottle is extended so that the contents of the bottle flow with a reduced flow. Such embodiment is disclosed in Figure 6.

In yet another one of the embodiments, the elongated lip of the bottle is long enough to restrict the flow of the liquid contents of the bottle. It is such that only droplets flow out of the bottle when tilted. It can be seen from Fig. 6.

The plastic bottle manufactured consists of such arched design in the mouth of the bottle at the time of manufacturing.

The present invention also discloses plastic bottle manufactured for the said system.

The plastic bottle as disclosed in the system of the invention comprises the lip which is of curved such that the lip is thicker than the rest of the neck and bottle body. Thus creating a bottle which does not use excessive material but provides enough surface area for the wadding.

The curve of the thickening of the lip can be of any shape. The preferred arc shapes are parabolic arc, circular arc, quadratic, exponential, etc. This is in no way restricting the shape of the lip of the bottle.

In yet another one of the embodiments, the elongated lip of the bottle is long enough to restrict the flow of the liquid contents of the bottle. It is such that only droplets flow out of the bottle when tilted. It can be seen from Fig. 6.

The method of manufacturing said plastic bottle is also inventive by the invention.

The present invention discloses a method of manufacturing plastic bottle for the said system such that the method consists of moulding the plastic bottle by blow moulding techniques in a mould, such that the mould consists of particular bottle neck design with elongated lip.

Please note that the bottle itself or the neck of the bottle itself can have any other features. The bottle can be of any varied shape and size. The neck of the bottle can have any outer shape. In some cases, there is threading on the exterior of the neck of the bottle as locking mechanism for accommodating the cap of the bottle. Any such or any other mechanism can be incorporated at the neck of the bottle or the body of the bottle without affecting the scope of the present invention.

Many modifications may readily be contemplated by those skilled in the art to which the invention relates. Many further modifications may readily be contemplated. The description set out above is particularly applicable to high rate clarification applications. However, in conventional clarification where the upstream or downstream processes herein described are not used, the teachings according to the invention may have considerable merit and are also applicable. The specific embodiments described, therefore, should be taken as illustrative of the invention only and not as limiting its scope as defined herein.
