Abstract

The Electrical yard and panel room are more sensitive and high voltage handling area where extreme care should be taken and entry of the unknown persons must be prohibited. The proposed invention "Solar powered multi stage protection for electrical yard or panel room using loT- a low cost solution" will allow only few .authorised technical persons. The proposed invention is low cost solution and high security!y system for above said sites as well as all other sensitive places. The first stage of protection is using number lock system. The four digit number password will be given to the authorised persons to enter in the first stage. Previously the four digit number will be stored in the controller. In the second stage finger print sensor is used; in which authorised persons finger print will be stored and verified during the entry. To ensure the entry in the second stage; the authorised person will receive One Time Password (OTP) in his I her mobile. phone. The OTP will be the third protection to enter the yard. Information will be sent to electrical engineer for .the wrong password and finger print. Simultaneously alarm will also be activated to intimate: employees or securities nearer to the panel room or yard. Therefore human life can be safeguarded and malfunctioning of the power system can be protected from the proposed invention. The proposed invention need only very few low cost devices to implement in real time which will provide I 00 percentage security for the sensitive areas like control•roofh; Electrical yard, mines, High voltage testing Electrical laboratories, Medical laboratories with high voltage machines such as CT scan, X-ray machines and other sensitive areas. The entire devices can be accommodated in small box therefore it needs less space and portable. It can be monitored from anywhere as the invention uses loT technology. The proposed invention is a complete automatic system anyhow human intervention also allowed whenever needed that is only the authorised person can provide the modification.

The present invention relates to novel devices and methods for implementing Solar
powered multi stage protection for electrical yard or panel room using loT- a low cost
solution. ·

The Electrical yard and control room are inevitable in the era of electrical power q ,,- . 1
system. The both are high voltage handling area, therefore extreme care should given to
these areas Otherwise the consequences are very dangerous and lead to loss human life
also. It is applicable for both public as well as employees those who are working in the high
voltage area. We were lost numerous human lives in the past few decades due to negligence
in protecting the above said areas. The proposed invention enstJres I 00 percentages reliable
on securing human lives. The proposed invention is a complete automatic system anyhow
human intervention also allowed whenever needed that is only the authorised person can
provide modification.

The proposed invention ensures the reliability. of operation securing the human lives
from the high voltage and completely mitigates human negligence. The proposed invention
is a low ~.:ust solution for protecting the employees as well as public from high voltage. The
components used in the proposed system listed above are low cost and less in numbers. It is
a portable small size device which can be provided anywhere and for any security system. It
is a three stage protective system. The first stage of protection is using number lock system .
The four digit number password will be given to the authorised persons to enter in the first
stage. The four digit number will be stored in the Arduino controller, during entry it will
0 . z verify with stored data_. In_the. second stage finger print sensor .is .u~.e<~h in which authorised
persons finger print will be stored and verified during the entry. Again to ensure the
authorised person entry; the third stage security system (controller) will generate One Time
Password (OTP) and send it to the authorised person. The OTP will be the third stage .
protection to enter the yard. To send OTP to operator mobile phone GSM ( Global System
for Mobile) technology is used.
Immediately after giving wrong input to the controller in the first and second stage;
Information will be given to the section Engineer. Siren will also be activated to alert the
control or yard operator to safeguard the area and to save the human lives. Only ten to
fifteen components are needed to implement the hardware. It will be in small size and also
portable. • • - f
The proposed invention is a complete automatic system anyhow human intervention
is also allowed for the change of password and finger print.· The allowed only for section
Engineer or the authorised person. This system will safeguard~the human from loss of their
lives due human negligence. This can be extended to all types of high voltage section and
sensitive places.
DESCRIPTION:
In the block diagram;
• Solar Photo Voltaic panel is used to energise all devices.
• The Numeric keypad is used to type the password and to recognise the entry
of right person.
• The Finger print sensor is used to recognise the entry of right person.
• The Arduino controller is used to receive signal from input devices, to store
the recognised persons data and to verify, intimate~ to .the Engineer
• The relay is used to turn on Alarm when unau.t horised. person enters.
• The GSM module is used to connect the controller with Engineer mobile
phone.
Detailed Description
The invention claims security system for high voltage sites;
The proposed invention is used to safeguard the human being in electrical
panel room, yard and other high voltage places. The panel or electrical yard should
have two gates with fencing. In the first gate, the numeric keypad will be placed.
The password will be given to authorised persons. If the controller receives right
password, the person can enter gate I. If he made five wrong attempts, the
information will be sent to Engineer as well as the alarm will be activated to alert
the operating personnel.
In the second gate finger print sensor will be fixed and recogmse the
authorised person entry. The gate will not be opened for the unauthorised persons
finger print and at the same time controller will tu{n on the alarm to intimate.
employees working nearby to give alert. Su the complete automation ensures the
entry of authorised persons and safeguards the human lives. Again to ensure the
authorised person entry; the third stage security systc;m (controller) will generate
One Time Password (OTP) and send it to the autho.ri sed person mobile phone. The '
OTP will be the third stage protection to enter the yard.
The absence. of safety measures at high-voltage handling locations has
resulted in several human deaths worldwide. How.~:~ye.r, if the suggested invention
is put into practice immediately, this problem will be entirely resolved. The
greatest benefits are found in sites with fewer. work~rs, such as automatic
substations, high-voltage testing labs, medical test nrg facilities including ECG,.
CT, and X-rays, hospital intensive care units, and other very sensitive and secure
locations. Because the system is entirely automated; fewer staff are required,
which also lowers the possibility of human error.

and it is a complete automatic system.
