Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
This invention generally relates to the field of agricultural automation and smart irrigation systems, and in particular, it pertains to a method for utilizing soil moisture sensors in conjunction with microcontrollers, such as Arduino, to automate the irrigation process. The system is designed to optimize water usage, reduce energy consumption, and enhance crop growth by providing precise and timely watering based on real-time soil moisture levels, thereby addressing the challenges posed by water scarcity and inefficient irrigation practices in agriculture.
BACKGROUND

[0001] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents di , Claims:1. An automated smart irrigation system (100) comprising:
a plurality of soil moisture sensors (102) configured to measure soil moisture levels in an agricultural field;
a microcontroller (104) connected to the soil moisture sensors, programmed to process the moisture data and determine the irrigation needs of the crops;
an irrigation mechanism (106) operatively connected to the microcontroller, capable of delivering water to the agricultural field based on the determined irrigation needs;
a power source (108), wherein the power source (108) is a renewable energy source; and
a user interface (110) for remote monitoring and control of the automated smart irrigation system (100).

2. The automated smart irrigation system (100) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a data logging module that records soil moisture levels, irrigation events, and environmental conditions over time, allowing for historical analysis and optimization of irrigation practices.
