[0021] The present invention relates to a secured egg storage device that assists a user in storing of eggs in an effective and secured manner in accordance to the number and dimensions of the eggs, thereby reducing chance of damage of the eggs as well as increasing shelf life of the eggs.
[0022] Referring to Figure 1, a perspective view of a secured egg storage device is illustrated, comprising a cuboidal body 1 1 housed with a conveyer 2 2 attached with plurality of trays 3 3, each of the trays 3 is carved with plurality of slots 4 4, a touch interactive display panel 5 5 installed on the body 1 , an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 6 mounted within the body 1 , a C-shaped motorized expandable clamp 7 7 installed with each of the slots 4 , a fingerprint scanner 8 8 crafted on the body 1 , and a motorized iris lid 9 configured with an opening carved on the body 1.
[0023] The device disclosed herein includes a cuboidal body 1 housed with a conveyer 2 attached with plurality of trays 3 . The body 1 is made up of stainless steel that offers corrosion resistance, strength and durability to the device and is easy to maintain. Each of the trays 3 is carved with plurality of slots 4 for allowing a user to accommodate eggs.
[0024] Upon accommodating of eggs in the slots 4 , a touch interactive display panel 5 installed on the body 1 enables the user to give input commands for securing the eggs within the slots 4 . The touch interactive display panel 5 as mentioned herein is typically an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen that presents output in a visible form. The screen is equipped with touch-sensitive technology, allowing the user to interact directly with the display using their fingers. A touch controller IC (Integrated Circuit) is responsible for processing the analog signals generated when the user inputs details regarding securing the eggs within the slots 4 . A touch controller is typically connected to an inbuilt microcontroller embedded within the body 1 through various interfaces which may include but are not limited to SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) or I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit).
[0025] Based on the input command from the user, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 mounted within the body 1 detects slots 4 in which the eggs are placed. The imaging unit 6 comprises of an image capturing arrangement including a set of lenses that captures multiple images of the surroundings around the body 1 , and the captured images are stored within memory of the imaging unit 6 in form of an optical data. The imaging unit 6 also comprises of a processor that is integrated with artificial intelligence protocols, such that the processor processes the optical data and extracts the required data from the captured images. The extracted data is further converted into digital pulses and bits and are further transmitted to the microcontroller. The microcontroller processes the received data and determines slots 4 in which the eggs are placed.
[0026] A C-shaped motorized expandable clamp 7 installed with each of the slots 4 . Based on the determined slots 4 , a laser sensor positioned on each of the clamp 7 for detecting diameter of the egg. The laser sensor consists of an emitter and receiver, and works on the principle of measuring the time delay between the laser beam to travel to the egg and back. The laser sensor emits a light towards the egg and when the laser beam hits the egg, the beam reflects back towards the receiver of the sensor. Upon detection of reflected beam by the sensor, the sensor precisely measures the time taken for the laser beam to travel to and back from the egg. The sensor then calculates the diameter of the egg and the calculated diameter of the egg is then converted into electrical signal, in the form of current, and send to a microcontroller. Upon receiving the signals, the microcontroller processes the signal to determine the diameter of the egg.
[0027] Based on the determined diameter of the egg, the microcontroller actuates the clamp 7 to expand via a drawer arrangement in view of securely gripping the eggs. The drawer arrangement consists of multiple plates that are overlapped to each other with a sliding unit, wherein upon actuation of the drawer arrangement by the microcontroller, the motor in the sliding unit starts rotating a wheel coupled via a shaft in clockwise/anticlockwise direction providing a movement to the slider in the drawer arrangement to extend/retract for securely gripping the eggs.
[0028] Further, in case the user via the screen gives input commands regarding number of the eggs required by the user, the microcontroller activates a fingerprint scanner 8 crafted on the body 1 for allowing the user to feed fingerprints for verification. The fingerprint sensor works on the principle of processing which includes two elements like enrolment and matching. In enrolment, the user has to put the finger on the sensor, so that the sensor checks the fingerprints to process and generate the finger pattern and it will be stored. In matching, once the user places the finger then the sensor will generate a pattern of the finger and sends the acquired data to the microcontroller. The microcontroller then compares the data with a stored pre-fed data to authenticate the user. Thus, the fingerprint sensor authenticate and recognize the fingerprints of the user. The fingerprints are compared with pre-saved fingerprints stored in a database linked with the microcontroller for the user's verification.
[0029] Upon successful verification of the user, a motorized iris lid 9 configured with an opening carved on the body 1 is actuated by the microcontroller to open. The iris lid 9 typically refers to the iris or aperture mechanism in the camera or optical instruments as it works in a similar manner to that of a human eye. The iris consists several thin and overlapping blades that forms an adjustable opening of the lid. Upon actuation of the iris lid 9 by the microcontroller the blades move apart resulting in the widening of mouth portion of the lid.
[0030] Upon opening of the lid, the microcontroller actuates the conveyer 2 for translating the trays 3 in a manner to position the eggs in front of the open. The conveyer 2 belt consists of a belt stretched across two or more pulley in close loop and one of the pulley is attached with a driven motor that is interlinked with the microcontroller. On actuation, the driven motor rotates the pulley which in turn results that the primary conveyer 2 belt also rotates that leads to translate eggs in front of the opening. Upon translation of the eggs in front of the opening, the clamp 7 are reactivated by the microcontroller for releasing the eggs, thus allowing the user to fetch the defined number of eggs. The eggs are allowed to be accessed by the user in a manner to maintain equal number of the eggs in each trays 3 to prevent misbalancing of the body 1.
[0031] Further, a moisture sensor positioned in each of the slots 4 detects the egg to be broken. The moisture sensor comprises a couple of conductive probes used for measuring moisture content in the slots 4 . The probes are electrodes capable of conducting charge and corresponding electrical resistance is measured by the sensor. As the moisture content in the slots 4 , the resistance through probes increases and the corresponding signal is received by the microcontroller. The microcontroller processes the signal to determine if the eggs are broken.
[0032] Based on the determined broken eggs, the microcontroller sends an alert on a computing unit for notifying the user to remove the broken egg. The microcontroller is wirelessly linked with the computing unit via a communication module which includes, but not limited to Wi-Fi module, Bluetooth module, GSM module which is capable of establishing a wireless network between the microcontroller and the computing unit for notifying the user to remove the broken egg.
[0033] Additionally, an ultraviolet-based sanitization unit mounted within the body 1 is activated by the microcontroller for emitting ultraviolet radiations in view of sanitizing the eggs. The UV sanitization comprises of a UV lamp that is effective against all pathogens, bacteria, molds, yeasts, etc. The ultraviolet light emitted by the lamp breaks down the chemical bonds, thus, scrambling the structure of DNA, RNA and proteins, which kills the microorganisms in view of sanitizing the eggs.
[0034] Lastly, a battery is installed within the device which is connected to the microcontroller that supplies current to all the electrically powered components that needs an amount of electric power to perform their functions and operation in an efficient manner. The battery utilized here, is generally a dry battery which is made up of Lithium-ion material that gives the device a long-lasting as well as an efficient DC (Direct Current) current which helps every component to function properly in an efficient manner. As the device is battery operated and do not need any electrical voltage for functioning. Hence the presence of battery leads to the portability of the device i.e., user is able to place as well as moves the device from one place to another as per the requirements.
[0035] The present invention works best in the following manner, where a cuboidal body 1 housed with the conveyer 2 attached with plurality of trays 3 . Each of the trays 3 with plurality of slots 4 allows the user to accommodate eggs. The touch interactive display panel 5 enables the user to give input commands for securing the eggs within the slots 4 . Based on the input command of the user, the artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 detects slots 4 in which the eggs are placed. The laser sensor detects diameter of the egg. Based on the detected diameter, the microcontroller actuates the clamp 7 to expand via the drawer arrangement in view of securely gripping the eggs. Further, in case the user via the screen gives input commands regarding number of the eggs required by the user, the microcontroller activates the scanner 8 for allowing the user to feed fingerprints for verification. Upon successful verification, the microcontroller actuates the iris lid 9 to open and actuates the conveyer 2 for translating the trays 3 in the manner to position the eggs in front of the open, followed by actuation of the clamp 7 for releasing the eggs, thus allowing the user to fetch the defined number of eggs.
[0036] Although the field of the invention has been described herein with limited reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limiting sense.
