Specification

Description:PORTABLE WATER PURIFICATION DEVICE

Field of Invention
The present invention relates to the water purification device. More particularly, a portable water purification device designed for use in emergencies or while traveling. It filters out contaminants from various water sources, ensuring access to clean drinking water wherever you go.

Background of the Invention
At present, as the environment becomes more polluted, and lakes, rivers and streams become endless cesspools, a camper or hunter soon realizes the necessity for carrying his own personal supply of water to avoid the necessity of exposing himself to the dangers of drinking polluted water. Various practices have become commonplace in searching for drinking water, including boiling the water prior to drinking, and dissolving iodoform tablets into the water. Many of the devices for filtering water are extremely large and bulky, and do not provide safety from bacteria and viruses in drinking water
Bolisetty, S., Peydayesh, M., & Mezzenga, R. (2019). Sustainable technologies for water purification from heavy metals: review and analysis. Chemical Society Reviews, 48(2), 463-487. Many portable water purification systems reviewed in this paper rely on chemical treatment methods, which can leave residual chemicals in the water. Additionally, these systems often require long wait times for the chemicals to effectively purify the water, which is not ideal for immediate use. The main problem with the prior art in portable water purification systems include: Chemical residue and wait time: Chemical treatment methods leave residual chemicals in the water and require significant wait times, which is inconvenient and potentially harmful for immediate consumption.
Grimm, T., & Ewald, D. (1979). U.S. Patent No. 4,151,092. Washington, DC: U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The current technologies available in market are:
• Lifestraw Personal Water Filter
• Sawyer Mini Water Filter
• Katadyn Hiker Pro Transparent Microfilter
• MSR Guardian Purifier
One drawback of the available market product is that, it is relatively expensive and bulky, making it less convenient for casual users or travelers who need a more compact solution.
The present portable water purification device addresses these issues by incorporating a multi-stage filtration system that includes both activated carbon and advanced membrane filters to effectively remove a wide range of contaminants, including chemicals, bacteria, and viruses. It also features both battery-powered and manual operation modes, ensuring immediate access to clean water without long wait times or chemical residues.

Objectives of the Invention
The prime objective of the present invention is to provide a portable water purification device.
Another object of this invention is to provide the portable water purification device that uses a multi-stage filtration system, including pre-filters, activated carbon filters, and advanced membranes.
Another object of this invention is to provide the portable water purification device where the device operates in both battery-powered and manual modes, this dual functionality ensures the device is usable even when batteries are depleted or when there is no access to power, overcoming the reliance on electricity or manual effort seen in other solution.
Another object of this invention is to provide the portable water purification device where the device is designed with a high filtration capacity, efficiently purifying a significant amount of water per filter cycle.
Yet another object of this invention is to provide the portable water purification device that has a user-friendly interface, easy to use, cost effective, durable and portable.
These and other objects of the present invention will be apparent from the drawings and descriptions herein. Every object of the invention is attained by at least one embodiment of the present invention.
