Abstract

ABSTRACT: By offering a portable, user-friendly emergency communication system, the suggested gadget seeks tc improve women's safety and security. This gadget incorporates a GSM module that, when triggered, instantly notifies pre-specified emergency contacts of crisis. To reassure the user, a piezo buzi:er acts as an audible indicator to indicate that the warning has been activated. Because of its small size, the gadget is convenient to carry along and may be used on a daily basis. Even in places where cellula service is weak, the GSM module guarantees dependable message delivery. The system requires very little user participation because it is simple but very effective. The goal of this project is to solve the pressing demand for women's personal safety by offering an affordable and easily accessible solution. I seeks to provide a useful tool that enables users to promptly express their need for assistance in times of crisis, providing peace of mind in day-to-day living, by utilizing. easily accessible technologica components. The majority of incidents happen because assistance could not arrive in time since it was difficult to quickly make contact with anybody outside. More recently, app developers have created smartphone applications that instantaneously transmit signals to the microcontroller's software equivalent, the emergency contact-based panic button. However, utilizing a smartphone app has drawbacks. First of all, there are issues with the battery, and if the phone isn't powered up sufficiently, he app won't function. Second, opening and using an app requires time, which raises reaction time, which may turn out to be hazardous. A gadget that is based on a microcontroller seeks to shorten the user's response time so they can respond quickly to a threat.

Specification

3. PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION: COMPLETE
The proposed system consists of an Arduino Nano, SIM900 GSM module, push button; piezo
buzzer, 5V battery, jumper wires, and connectors. The Arduino Nano serves as the core processing uni
of the device, handling inputs and outputs to manage communication with the GSM module and. othe
components. The Arduino Nano is connected to the SIM900 GSM module in order to send emergency
SMS messages when the system is turned on. By hitting the push button, a signal is sent to the Arduino
Nano, activating the system. This triggers the GSM module to send a pre-configured emergen:~
message to selected contacts, such as family members or emergency services. The SIM900 GSM
module, with its support for various frequency bands, ensures reliable communication over cellula
networks. The power supply is provided by a 5V battery, connected using a clip connector, allowing the
device to remain portable and lightweight for easy use in emergency situations. The Arduino Nano,
operating at 5V, is suitable for low-power, battery-operated devices. When the device is activated, a piezo
buzzer sounds, providing an immediate audio alert to indicate that an emergency signal has been sent.
jThis adds an additional layer of safety alongside the SMS notification. Jumper wires and connectors are
used to establish connections between the Arduino, GSM module, push button, and buzzer without the
need for soldering, making the setup easy to assemble and modify. The Arduino Nano is programmed
using the Arduino IDE, which allows for easy coding and customization of the device's functionality. This
open-source platform enables users to write, compile, and upload the code to manage the system's
behavior and communication between components.
~- DESCRIPTION:
The proposed women's safety device is built around an Arduino Nano, paired with a SIM900 GSM
module to ensure reliable emergency communication. This innovative setup includes a SV power
source for portability and ease of use, allowing the device to be carried in a handbag or attached to a
keychain without adding significant weight or bulk. The GSM module plays a crucial role in the
unctionality of the device, as it is responsible for sending distress messages to pre-set contacts, which
could include family members, friends, or emergency services. To activate the device in a moment of
need, a simple push button is employed, ergonomic;:ally designed for quick access even in high-stress
~ituations. When the button is pressed, it sends a trigger to the Arduino, initiating a series of
programmed responses.that engage the GSM module. Upon successful activation, the module
ransmits an emergency.message through the cellular network, which can include the user's location
and a brief description of the situation, ensuring that the recipient understands the urgency of the
message. Additior:~ally, a piezo buzzer is integrated into the device to provide auditory confirmation
during this crucial process, alerting the user with a distinct sound that the distress signal has been sent .
lfhis feature not only serves as a reassurance for the user but also alerts bystanders that the individual
may be in danger, potentially drawing assistance from those nearby. The device is compact and
incorporates various components, including jumper wires for secure connections and a SIM card to
enable seamless communication. The thoughtful design takes into account not just the functionality but
also the aesthetics, making it an attractive accessory that users would feel comfortable carrying. With
its lightweight design, the setup is portable and user-friendly, providing an efficient solution for
e'nhancing personal safety in critical situations. Moreover, the device can be customized to suit the
user's preferences, allowing them to select different distress messages or adjust the volume of the
buzzer.

5. CLAIMS: I claim the following:
1. The proposed device enhances women's safety by providing a reliable communication system ir
emergencies.
2. It is easy to use and compact, making it suitable for daily use
3. This setup is a cost-effective solution for personal safety, offering security without the need for comple)
installation or maintenance.
!4. The project integrates simple yet effective technology, making it accessibl.e to a wide range of users.
5. It addresses the need for portable safety devices in situations where traditional methods of seeking
help may not be accessible.
6. The device's design emphasizes ease of use, allowing it to be operated even under stressfu
conditions.
