Abstract

ABSTRACT The current voting system which involves balloting/EVM’s (Electronic voting machines) face numerous challenges such as security vulnerabilities, cyber threats, inefficient to fraud and tampering. To revamp the system digitally with much improved security with pool proof blockchain assistance. This proposed framework supports a scalable blockchain by using flexible smart contracts and consensus algorithms to provide a tamper-proof voting environment. This blockchain framework has inbuilt decentralized data storage, cryptographic hashing – SHA 512 HASHING ALGORITHM. This system reduces the need for physical polling stations, enhancing accessibility for voters. The integration of blockchain technology secures the votes and maintains voter privacy through the use of smart contracts. These features increase voter confidence in the Security and transparency of the electoral process, encouraging broader participation

Specification

Description:FIELD OF INVENTION
● Unlike conventional systems where administrators can modify, delete, or update
data resulting in data mutability blockchain technology ensures that once data,
such as a vote, is recorded in the system, it cannot be altered or removed. In a
blockchain-based voting system, no individual or entity can change or delete
votes once they are registered on the blockchain. This is because blockchain
technology is designed to be immutable: once a block containing vote data is
added to the server, it cannot be changed. If any intrusion is detected, the relevant
blocks within the blockchain identify and rebuild the compromised node,
maintaining the integrity of the system. Due to its decentralized nature, no single
computing node can compromise the voting process.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
At the heart of blockchain is the principle of decentralization, which enhances the
security of voting systems by distributing data across a network of nodes. This
decentralized approach makes it nearly impossible for any single entity to manipulate
voting records, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the election process [5], [6]. Each
vote is encrypted and linked to the previous one, forming a chain of blocks that are timestamped and verified by the network, ensuring that election results are both accurate and
tamper-proof
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
In the online voting system using blockchain, voters begin by authenticating themselves
and casting their votes through a secure online platform. These votes are recorded on a
blockchain network, where each vote is stored as a block, ensuring immutability and
transparency. Polling stations in this context are virtual nodes within the blockchain
where the votes are securely stored. Each block of data is linked to the previous one,
forming a secure and tamper-proof chain of records. Polling stations also provide
essential resources like servers and blockchain nodes to facilitate the voting process.
Security forces in this system represent the robust cybersecurity measures in place to
protect the entire voting process. These include encryption protocols, firewalls, and
regular audits to prevent unauthorized access, hacking, and data breaches. The staff in
the diagram refers to the automated algorithms and smart contracts embedded within
the blockchain system. These smart contracts are responsible for automatically
verifying, counting, and tallying the votes, ensuring that the entire process is accurate
and tamper-proof.
Once the votes are processed, the final tally is securely compiled, and the results are
then reported to government authorities. The blockchain ensures that the results

received by the authorities are trustworthy, immutable, and transparent, providing
confidence in the electoral outcome. Throughout the process, voter anonymity and the
integrity of the votes are preserved, significantly reducing the possibility of electoral
fraud. The entire system is designed to enhance public trust by providing a secure,
transparent, and efficient voting experience. By leveraging blockchain technology, the
system ensures that every step, from vote casting to result reporting, is protected and
transparent, reinforcing the legitimacy and fairness of the election process
