Abstract
The increasing incidents of fuel theft in vehicles pose significant challenges to vehicle owners and fleet managers. Traditional security measures often fall short in preventing such thefts effectively. In response, this study proposes a novel solution leveraging advancements in Geo-Fencing technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) to develop a robust fuel theft prevention system. The proposed system integrates GPS technology to establish virtual boundaries known as Geo-Fences around designated areas, such as fuel stations or vehicle parking lots. An IoT-enabled lock mechanism is installed on the fuel tank to control access. The lock is wirelessly connected to a central monitoring system via cellular or satellite communication networks. The system is used for IOT technology to provide advanced surveillance security system and protection for fuel theft prevention. A locking mechanism is used for electronic lock device, which operates by means of electric current. Electric lock may be connected to an access control system. This lock can also be monitored button type and controlled, both lock and unlock. A microcontroller is used for a pic microcontroller cp 1600. That provides a freeware IDE package called MP LABx. A graphical programming language, flow code, exist capable of programming 8- and 16-bit PIC devices and generating PIC compatible C code, it is connected by a GSM. In this fuel level sensor used for float level sensor, it is connected by microcontroller. Upon entering or exiting a Geo-Fenced area, the IoT lock is activated or deactivated automatically based on predefined criteria. Unauthorized attempts to access the fuel tank trigger immediate alerts to the vehicle owner or fleet manager through the monitoring system. Additionally, real-time monitoring of fuel levels and vehicle location further enhances security measures. The proposed Geo-Fencing technology advancement lock offers a proactive approach to combat fuel theft in vehicles, providing enhanced security, real-time monitoring, and immediate response capabilities. Implementing such innovative solutions is crucial in safeguarding valuable resources and optimizing fleet management operations in the transportation industry.
