Abstract
A method related to illumination compensation and an electronic device are provided. An image frame of a bitstream is received. A first mode is determined from multiple local illumination compensation (LIC) modes. A first template of a block unit of the image frame and one or more second templates of one or more reference blocks are determined. A first model is determined based on the first template and the one or more second templates. A prediction of illumination of the block unit of the image frame is modified based on the first model.
