Abstract

The invention relates to a method for winding a spinning thread (2), in which method the spinning thread (2) is deposited on a bobbin spindle (6) by means of a traversing device (4), wherein: the spinning thread (2) is deposited at a varying deposition angle; the traversing device (4) is spaced from a thread-deposition face for the spinning thread (2) so that a drag curve results during thread deposition, which drag curve leads to a variation in the stroke width (H) of the spinning thread (2) during deposition at a varying deposition angle; and, in order to compensate for the variation in the stroke width (H) of the spinning thread (2), a stroke width (H) of the spinning thread (2) is varied by means of at least one stroke-width-modifying device (3).
