Abstract

ABSTRACT A method (100) for managing waste using a smart bin system. Further, the method comprising providing a smart bin equipped with sensors, including a moisture sensor and ultrasonic sensors, for detecting waste type and fill level. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of monitoring the moisture content of the waste to classify it into wet and dry categories, generating signals based on a predetermined moisture threshold. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of activating a servo motor to automatically segregate waste into designated compartments based on moisture content. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of transmitting real-time data regarding fill level and waste composition to a remote monitoring platform via a wireless communication module. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of alerting waste management authorities when the fill level reaches a predefined threshold and providing a user interface for mon

Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to the field of waste management systems and, in particular, to a method for optimizing waste segregation and collection using smart bin technology that enhances recycling efforts and minimizes the environmental impact of waste disposal.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] The increasing volume of waste generated by urban populations has become a significant environmental challenge, leading to the need for more efficient waste managemen , Claims:1. A method (100) for managing waste using a smart bin system, the method comprising the steps of:
providing a smart bin equipped with sensors, including a moisture sensor and ultrasonic sensors, for detecting waste type and fill level;
monitoring the moisture content of the waste to classify it into wet and dry categories, generating signals based on a predetermined moisture threshold;
activating a servo motor to automatically segregate waste into designated compartments based on moisture content;
transmitting real-time data regarding fill level and waste composition to a remote monitoring platform via a wireless communication module; and
alerting waste management authorities when the fill level reaches a predefined threshold and providing a user interface for monitoring the smart bin status.

2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the user interface includes a mobile application and a web dashboard that displays real-time notifications regarding the fill level, waste composition, and scheduled w
