Abstract
ABSTRACT A method (100) for synthesizing manganese-zinc spinel ferrite (Mn-Zn, Mn0.3Zn0.7Fe2O4). Further, the method comprising preparing stoichiometric aqueous solutions of manganese nitrate, zinc nitrate, and ferric nitrate in distilled water. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of adding an organic fuel, hydrazine hydrate, to the metal nitrate solution while continuously stirring the mixture. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of concentrating the combined solution in a water bath at a temperature of 70–75°C for a duration of two hours. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of transferring the concentrated solution to a crucible and subjecting it to combustion at a temperature of 650°C for five hours in a muffle furnace. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of characterizing the synthesized manganese-zinc spinel ferrite using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy to confirm the

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to the field of wastewater treatment and, in particular, to a method for synthesizing manganese-zinc spinel ferrite (Mn-Zn, Mn0.3Zn0.7Fe2O4) using a solution combustion method, which is designed to enhance the removal of dyes from aqueous solutions while minimizing environmental impact through the utilization of low-energy synthesis techniques.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] The increasing pollution of water bodies due to the disch , Claims:WE CLAIM:
1. A method (100) for synthesizing manganese-zinc spinel ferrite (Mn-Zn, Mn0.3Zn0.7Fe2O4), the method comprising the steps of:
preparing stoichiometric aqueous solutions of manganese nitrate, zinc nitrate, and ferric nitrate in distilled water;
adding an organic fuel, hydrazine hydrate, to the metal nitrate solution while continuously stirring the mixture;
concentrating the combined solution in a water bath at a temperature of 70-75°C for a duration of two hours;
transferring the concentrated solution to a crucible and subjecting it to combustion at a temperature of 650°C for five hours in a muffle furnace; and
characterizing the synthesized manganese-zinc spinel ferrite using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy to confirm the formation of the desired ferrite phase.
2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the synthesized manganese-zinc spinel ferrite exhibits strong adsorption capabilities for removing dyes from aqueous solutions, as determined by UV-Visible spectroscopy.
