Abstract
ABSTRACT A method (100) for synthesizing and evaluating oxadiazole derivatives as glucokinase activators for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Further, the method comprising synthesizing oxadiazole derivatives by reacting appropriate precursors in the presence of a suitable solvent and catalyst. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of purifying the synthesized oxadiazole derivatives using chromatography. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of characterizing the purified oxadiazole derivatives using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and mass spectrometry. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of evaluating the glucokinase activation potential of the oxadiazole derivatives in vitro by measuring the conversion of glucose to glucose-6-phosphate. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of assessing the toxicity profile of the oxadiazole derivatives using

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to the field of pharmaceutical chemistry and, in particular, to a method for synthesizing and evaluating oxadiazole derivatives as glucokinase activators for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, with an emphasis on developing novel therapeutic agents that improve glucose metabolism and enhance insulin sensitivity.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by insulin re , Claims:1. A method (100) for synthesizing and evaluating oxadiazole derivatives as glucokinase activators for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, the method comprising the steps of:
synthesizing oxadiazole derivatives by reacting appropriate precursors in the presence of a suitable solvent and catalyst;
purifying the synthesized oxadiazole derivatives using chromatography;
characterizing the purified oxadiazole derivatives using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and mass spectrometry;
evaluating the glucokinase activation potential of the oxadiazole derivatives in vitro by measuring the conversion of glucose to glucose-6-phosphate; and
assessing the toxicity profile of the oxadiazole derivatives using computational toxicity prediction tools.
2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the oxadiazole derivatives are selected from the group consisting of 1,2,4-oxadiazoles substituted with various alkyl or aryl groups.
