Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to the field of pharmaceutical chemistry and, in particular, to a method for synthesizing novel coumarin derivatives as potential antidiabetic agents that exhibit enhanced inhibitory activity against alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase enzymes.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] The rising prevalence of diabetes mellitus, particularly Type 2 diabetes, has become a significant global health concern, necessitating the development of effe , Claims:1. A method (100) for synthesizing coumarin derivatives as potential antidiabetic agents, the method comprising the steps of:
selecting a library of coumarin derivatives from a chemical database;
synthesizing the selected coumarin derivatives through appropriate chemical reactions;
evaluating the inhibitory activity of the synthesized derivatives against alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase enzymes;
performing molecular docking studies to assess the binding affinity of the coumarin derivatives to glucokinase; and
analyzing the pharmacokinetic properties of the most promising coumarin derivatives for further development as antidiabetic agents.

2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the synthesized coumarin derivatives are further modified by introducing substituents to enhance their binding affinity and inhibitory activity against glucokinase and alpha-glucosidase.
