Abstract
ABSTRACT A method (100) for synthesizing a nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (N-CQDs) mediated Z-scheme heterojunction. Further, the method comprising providing a mixture of 4 grams of Nyctanthes flowers and 300 ml of distilled water, adding 10 ml of ethylenediamine (EDA), and heating the mixture at 90°C for 48 hours with continuous stirring. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of subjecting the resultant solution to microwave irradiation at 100°C for 3-4 hours to obtain the N-CQDs. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of fabricating a heterojunction by combining the N-CQDs with bismuth sulfide (Bi2S3) and cuprous oxide (Cu2O) nanoparticles in a 50 ml distilled water solution, followed by drying the mixture at 100°C for 3-4 hours. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of utilizing the synthesized N-CQDs mediated Z-scheme heterojunction for photocatalytic degradation of ampicil
