Abstract

ABSTRACT A method (100) for synthesising plant based silver nanoparticles, the method (100) comprising the steps of grinding O. basilicum seeds to obtain a paste, boiling the paste at a temperature in the range of 50-80 degree Celsius for a time period of 1-2 hours to obtain a sterilised mixture, adding the sterilised mixture in a silver solution followed by continuous stirring to obtain a homogeneous solution of silver nanoparticles, separating the silver nanoparticles by subjecting the homogeneous solution to centrifugation and dehydrating the separated silver nanoparticles at a temperature in the range of 60 – 80 degree Celsius. <>

Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to a field of silver nanoparticles and in particular relates to a method for synthesising plant based silver nanoparticles.
BACKGROUND

[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] The increasing demand for sustainable and eco-friendly materials has driven research into green nanotechnology, particularly in the synthesis of nanoparticles with minimal environmental impact. Among various nanomaterials, silver nanoparticles have garnered attention due to thei , Claims:1. A method (100) for synthesising plant based silver nanoparticles, the method (100) comprising the steps of:
grinding O. basilicum seeds to obtain a paste;
boiling the paste at a temperature in the range of 50-80 degree Celsius for a time period of 1-2 hours to obtain a sterilised mixture;
adding the sterilised mixture in a silver solution followed by continuous stirring to obtain a homogeneous solution of silver nanoparticles;
separating the silver nanoparticles by subjecting the homogeneous solution to centrifugation; and
dehydrating the separated silver nanoparticles at a temperature in the range of 60 - 80 degree Celsius.

2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the silver solution corresponds to silver nitrate (AgNO3).

3. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising pelletizing the dehydrated silver nanoparticles to obtain powdered silver nanoparticles.
