Abstract

ABSTRACT A method (100) for producing hybrid composite materials using natural fibres as reinforcement. Further, the method comprising selecting at least two types of natural fibres, such as jute and hemp, based on their mechanical properties and compatibility with a polymer matrix. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of treating the selected natural fibres with a sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution to enhance fibre surface properties and improve fibre-matrix adhesion. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of arranging the treated fibres in a predetermined orientation within a mould to form a layered structure. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of impregnating the layered fibres with a polymer matrix, such as epoxy resin, to create a cohesive composite material. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of curing the impregnated fibres under controlled temperature and pressure conditions t

Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to the field of composite materials and, in particular, to a method for producing hybrid composite materials using natural fibres as reinforcement, which are derived from renewable sources and designed to enhance mechanical performance while minimizing environmental impact.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] The increasing awareness of environmental issues and the need for sustainable practices have led to a growing interest in the dev , Claims:1. A method (100) for producing hybrid composite materials using natural fibres as reinforcement, the method comprising the steps of:
selecting at least two types of natural fibres, such as jute and hemp, based on their mechanical properties and compatibility with a polymer matrix;
treating the selected natural fibres with a sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution to enhance fibre surface properties and improve fibre-matrix adhesion;
arranging the treated fibres in a predetermined orientation within a mould to form a layered structure;
impregnating the layered fibres with a polymer matrix, such as epoxy resin, to create a cohesive composite material; and
curing the impregnated fibres under controlled temperature and pressure conditions to form a solid hybrid composite structure.

2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution is applied at a concentration of 4% for a duration of 30 minutes to optimize fibre treatment effectiveness.
