Abstract

ABSTRACT A method (100) for preparing probiotic bacterial isolates, the method (100) comprising the steps of isolating bacterial strains from at least one of food sources and animal sources, incubating the isolated bacterial strains in an anaerobic environment using nutrient broth at a temperature in the range of 30°C - 37°C for 24-48 hours to obtain cultured bacterial isolates, exposing the cultured bacterial isolates to an acidic solution for 4-6 hours to obtain a bacterial culture, conducting one or more evaluation tests using the bacterial culture and sub-culturing one or more bacterial isolates from the bacterial culture based on the one or more evaluation tests.

[0001] This invention generally relates to a field of probiotics and in particular relates to a method for preparing probiotic bacterial isolates.
BACKGROUND

[0003] Traditionally, probiotics have been recognized for health-promoting benefits, especially in enhancing gut health, boosting immunity, and preventing infections. Probiotic strains are primarily obtained from food sources such as fermented dairy products and fermented foods or from animal sources, , Claims:WE CLAIM:
1. A method (100) for preparing probiotic bacterial isolates, the method (100) comprising the steps of:
isolating bacterial strains from at least one of food sources and animal sources;
incubating the isolated bacterial strains in an anaerobic environment using nutrient broth at a temperature in the range of 30°C - 37°C for 24-48 hours to obtain cultured bacterial isolates;
exposing the cultured bacterial isolates to an acidic solution for 4-6 hours to obtain a bacterial culture;
conducting one or more evaluation tests using the bacterial culture; and
sub-culturing one or more bacterial isolates from the bacterial culture based on the one or more evaluation tests.

2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the acidic solution corresponds to a solution with pH in the range of 3.5 - 4.5.

3. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the one or more evaluation tests include acid tolerance test, bile salt tolerance test, antibiotic susceptibility test and lactic acid test.
