ABSTRACT A method (100) for preparing giloy stem extract, the method (100) comprising: washing the giloy stem; peeling the skin off the stem; cutting the stem into short pieces of approximately 2.5 cm; macerating the cut stem pieces by adding double distilled water; soaking the macerated stem pieces in double distilled water for a period of 12 hours; macerating the soaked stem pieces again using a blender; allowing the blended mixture to sit undisturbed for 4 hours; straining the mixture to obtain the extract; pasteurizing the extract; and storing the pasteurized extract in an airtight container within a refrigerator.
