ABSTRACT A method (100) for preparing biodiesel from waste cooking oil comprising: collecting and filtering waste cooking oil to remove impurities; transesterifying the filtered oil with an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst to produce biodiesel and glycerol; separating the biodiesel from the glycerol and other by-products; washing and purifying the biodiesel to meet quality standards; and evaluating the biodiesel for performance in engines.
