Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to a field of ssential oils and, more particularly, to method for evaluating anti-diabetic and antioxidant properties of essential oils.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] Diabetes is a chronic condition impacting the body's ability to metabolize carbohydrates, often leading to secondary complications such as neuropathy and cardiovascular issues. Current anti-diabetic treatments, like alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase inhibitors, ha , Claims:1. A method (100) for evaluating anti-diabetic and antioxidant properties of essential oils, the method (100) comprising the steps of:
selecting at least one essential oil from a set of essential oils;
performing molecular docking of the selected essential oils with one or more anti-diabetic target enzymes; and
evaluating the anti-diabetic and anti-oxidant properties of the essential oils through one or more enzymatic assays.
2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the set of essential oils include jojoba oil, argon oil, grapeseed oil, carrot seed oil, and avocado oil.
3. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the one or more anti-diabetic target enzymes include alpha amylase, glucosidase, dipeptidyl peptidase, protein tyrosine phosphatase, glucokinase or glycogen synthase kinase.
4. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the one or more enzymatic assays include 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) Assay, 2,2'-Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) Assay and F
