Abstract

ABSTRACT A method (100) for estimating impact of crop residue burning. Further, the method (100) comprising collecting a crop production data and a crop residue burning data for a specific geographic region, determining correlation between the crop production data, the crop residue burning data and an emission level of pollutants by performing a regression analysis and determining the emission level of pollutants as a function of the crop residue burning data based at least on the regression analysis.

Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to a field of crop residue burning and in particular relates to a method for estimating impact of crop residue burning on air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
BACKGROUND

[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] Crop residue burning is a widespread agricultural practice, especially in regions with intensive farming cycles. Farmers often burn residual crop biomass, such as rice and wheat stubble, to clear fields quickly for subsequent crops. This , Claims:1. A method (100) for estimating impact of crop residue burning, the method (100) comprising the steps of:
collecting a crop production data and a crop residue burning data for a specific geographic region;
determining correlation between the crop production data, the crop residue burning data and an emission level of pollutants by performing a regression analysis; and
determining the emission level of pollutants as a function of the crop residue burning data based at least on the regression analysis.

2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising determining change in the emission level of pollutants based at least on the crop residue burning data of the specific geographic region.
