Abstract

ABSTRACT A method (100) for enhancing production of secondary metabolites, the method (100) comprising the steps of selecting an explant of Withania somnifera, culturing the explant in a nutrient medium under controlled in vitro conditions, introducing a predefined amount of Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) into the nutrient medium and optimizing the in vitro conditions to promote interaction of the PGPR with tissues of the Withania somnifera to produce secondary metabolites. <>

Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to a field of secondary metabolites and in particular relates to a method for enhancing production of secondary metabolites.
BACKGROUND

[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] The rising global demand for medicinal plants, including Withania somnifera (commonly known as Ashwagandha), has intensified the need for sustainable cultivation methods to ensure a steady supply of bioactive compounds. Withania somnifera is widely recognized for its therapeuti , Claims:1. A method (100) for enhancing production of secondary metabolites, the method (100) comprising the steps of:
selecting an explant of Withania somnifera;
culturing the explant in a nutrient medium under controlled in vitro conditions;
introducing a predefined amount of Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) into the nutrient medium; and
optimizing the in vitro conditions to promote interaction of the PGPR with tissues of the Withania somnifera to produce secondary metabolites.

2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the PGPR comprises specific bacterial strains selected for nutrient uptake, callus formation, and plant resilience under in the vitro conditions.
