Abstract

ABSTRACT A method (100) for enhancing phosphorus availability in soil, the method (100) comprising the steps of isolating phosphate-solubilizing microorganisms from soil samples using a selective nutrient media, culturing the isolated microorganisms in a nutrient-rich medium to achieve optimal growth, formulating the cultured microorganisms into a biofertilizer composition and applying the biofertilizer composition to soil or seeds to convert insoluble phosphates in the soil samples into soluble forms available for plant uptake. <>

Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to a field of soil enrichment and in particular relates to a method for enhancing phosphorus availability in soil.
BACKGROUND

[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] The excessive reliance on chemical fertilizers in agriculture has led to a range of environmental challenges, including soil degradation, water pollution, and loss of biodiversity. Phosphorus, a crucial nutrient for plant growth, is typically added to soil in the form of chemical fertili , Claims:1. A method (100) for enhancing phosphorus availability in soil, the method (100) comprising the steps of:
isolating phosphate-solubilizing microorganisms from soil samples using a selective nutrient media;
culturing the isolated microorganisms in a nutrient-rich medium to achieve optimal growth;
formulating the cultured microorganisms into a biofertilizer composition; and
applying the biofertilizer composition to soil or seeds to convert insoluble phosphates in the soil samples into soluble forms available for plant uptake.

2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein phosphate-solubilizing microorganisms are from genera including Pseudomonas, Bacillus, and Aspergillus.

3. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the biofertilizer composition further includes organic acids such as citric acid, lactic acid, or gluconic acid.
