Abstract

ABSTRACT A method (100) for enhancing the performance of a composite solid propellant. Further, the method comprising mixing 65% ammonium nitrate, 32% sucrose, and 3% metal nanometer particles selected from sodium borohydride (NaBH4), lithium borohydride (LiBH4), or lithium beryllium hydride (LiBeH3) to form a propellant mixture. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of grinding the ammonium nitrate and sucrose into a fine powder prior to mixing. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of adding the metal nanometer particles to the mixture in a controlled manner to ensure uniform dispersion. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of casting the propellant mixture into a combustion chamber. Further, the method (100) comprising the steps of evaluating the performance of the propellant by measuring specific impulse, thrust, and burn rate during combustion tests. <>

Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to the field of advanced materials and in particular relates to a method for enhancing the performance of composite solid propellants through the incorporation of metal nanometer particles derived from sustainable sources, aimed at improving combustion efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] The increasing demand for high-performance propulsion systems in aerospace and defense applications h , Claims:WE CLAIM:
1. A method (100) for enhancing the performance of a composite solid propellant, the method comprising the steps of:
mixing 65% ammonium nitrate, 32% sucrose, and 3% metal nanometer particles selected from sodium borohydride (NaBH4), lithium borohydride (LiBH4), or lithium beryllium hydride (LiBeH3) to form a propellant mixture;
grinding the ammonium nitrate and sucrose into a fine powder prior to mixing;
adding the metal nanometer particles to the mixture in a controlled manner to ensure uniform dispersion;
casting the propellant mixture into a combustion chamber; and
evaluating the performance of the propellant by measuring specific impulse, thrust, and burn rate during combustion tests.

2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the metal nanometer particles are selected from the group consisting of sodium borohydride (NaBH4), lithium borohydride (LiBH4), and lithium beryllium hydride (LiBeH3).
