analysing the pre-processed traffic data against a set of predefined rules to identify potential intrusions;
generating alerts based on the identified potential intrusions; and
logging the alerts and corresponding captured traffic data for further analysis.

2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising integrating a machine learning algorithm to dynamically adjust the predefined rules based on historical traffic patterns and identified intrusions, thereby enhancing the accuracy of intrusion detection over time.
