Abstract
Karma Yoga is a doctrine rooted in the ancient Indian scripture Bhagavad Gita that supports action without attachment to results as a path to spiritual release. This study aims to enhance our understanding of Karma Yoga and its effectiveness in promoting resilience and success in the face of challenges. The study uses a qualitative content analysis approach to analyze the verses of the Bhagavad Gita to uncover the hitherto overlooked dimensions of Karma Yoga and identifies "vigour" as an additional dimension, augmenting the current triad of duty orientation, indifference to rewards, and equanimity. Building upon these dimensions, a conceptual framework of Karma Yoga Model for Thriving (KYMT) is developed, outlining the complex interplay between Karma Yoga principles and individual characteristics such as positive perspective, proactive personality, motivation, knowledge and learning, psychological resilience, and social competencies.

Specification
Description:This innovation is based on the Karma Yoga concept described in the Bhagavad Gita and pertains to holistic individual development and well-being. This is an advanced, systematic reconceptualization of Karma Yoga dimensions, and the innovative Karma Yoga Model for Thriving (KYT) integrates the core teachings of Karma Yoga with modern concepts of well-being, emotional intelligence, and professional growth. This model presents practical applications for enriching individual and organizational performance by fostering resilience, purpose-driven work, and mental clarity. It is adaptable across diverse sectors, including education, corporate environments, and spiritual development programs. This innovation aims to offer a holistic, actionable system for attaining balanced personal and professional success while remaining aligned with the core values of Karma Yoga. , Claims:Claim 1:
Karma Yoga represents a positive, context-free disposition characterized by performing duty with detached involvement that encompasses four key dimensions: Duty Orientation, Indifference to Rewards, Vigour, and Equanimity.
Uniqueness of the claim: Oriented toward duty with detached involvement, karma yoga is a positive, context-free disposition with four essential dimensions: vigour, equanimity, duty orientation, and indifference to rewards. This distinctive claim reinterprets Karma Yoga as an all-encompassing, context-neutral attitude that transcends particular circumstances, roles, or settings. It includes vigour, which reflects an eager and driven approach to work; equanimity, which fosters balance and emotional stability; duty orientation, which emphasizes moral and meaningful behaviour; and indifference to rewards, which concentrates on distancing oneself from results. Other psychological models typically compartmentalize behaviour or motivation into particular situations or outcomes. Combining these four elements produces a durable and well-balanced model for professional and personal development.
Claim 2:
Integration of duty orientation, indifference to rewards, vigor, and equanimity within the Karma Yoga Model for Thriving (KYT) framework offers a holistic approach to thriving.
Uniqueness: This claim is distinct because of its conceptual coherence. Other models focus on various facets of performance or well-being, such as effort, motivation, or emotional equilibrium. However, Karma Yoga combines Duty Orientation, Indifference to Rewards, Vigour, and Equanimity into a cohesive, all-encompassing strategy. Because vigour propels energetic effort, equanimity assures prolonged focus and mental balance, and responsibility and selflessness diminish emotional instability (through indifference to rewards). This integration offers a unique approach to thriving. The Karma Yoga model promotes balance, which is not found in other models, prioritizing productivity at the price of well-being or vice versa.
Claim 3:
Karma Yoga positively influences Positive Perspective.
Uniqueness: One of the unique aspects of Karma Yoga is its transformative effect on an individual's mentality. By focusing on unselfish action and distancing oneself from results, Karma Yoga encourages a more upbeat and happy outlook on life. This emphasis on deliberate action to foster positivity is a unique aspect of Karma Yoga, setting it apart from other models that might only concentrate on cognitive restructuring.
Claim 4:
Karma Yoga enhances Proactive Personality.
Uniqueness: By emphasizing responsibility (Dharma) without regard to results, Karma Yoga empowers people to take the initiative. Unlike approaches that only focus on goal-setting or achievement-based motivation, this proactive strategy flows naturally from the philosophy of action-oriented behaviour. Karma Yoga encourages self-sustaining, intrinsic initiative grounded in moral and spiritual principles.
Claim 5:
Karma Yoga positively influences Intrinsic Motivation.
Uniqueness: The majority of theories of motivation center on rewards from without or internal aspirations to reach predetermined goals. Karma Yoga promotes intrinsic motivation fueled by a higher sense of purpose by emphasizing the need to selflessly carry out one's responsibility. This strategy differs from models concerned with self-interest or outside approval since it promotes effort for its intrinsic worth.
Claim 6:
Karma Yoga positively influences Knowledge and Learning.
Uniqueness: Karma Yoga sees learning as an ongoing, altruistic endeavor that synchronizes deeds with one's more excellent knowledge and obligation. In contrast to conventional educational approaches prioritizing accomplishment, Karma Yoga promotes learning via humility and service. Karma, the idea of learning by doing, is unique because it combines spiritual growth with helpful information.
Claim 7: Karma Yoga has a positive effect on Social Competencies.
Uniqueness: Karma Yoga improves social abilities because it strongly emphasizes empathy, altruism, and moral behavior in interpersonal relationships. These qualities naturally strengthen social competencies. This contrasts standard social competency models, which might only emphasize interpersonal or communication abilities. Karma Yoga is an exceptional facilitator of social competence because of its emphasis on obligation to others, which improves compassion and teamwork.
Claim 8: Karma Yoga has a positive effect on Psychological Resilience.
Uniqueness: By lowering emotional reliance on results, Karma Yoga's detachment from results (Nishkama Karma) concept enhances psychological resilience. In contrast to resilience approaches prioritizing stress management or cognitive reframing, Karma Yoga cultivates resilience via disciplined action and spiritual acceptance, offering a comprehensive strategy for overcoming life's obstacles.
