Abstract

In this work, a monopole antenna with a unique tower-shaped radiating element integrated into the patch design is presented. The antenna is mounted on a conducting ground plane and engineered to operate efficiently across dual frequency bands, specifically tailored for WiMAX and ISM applications. The design incorporates an L-slit and a T-shaped structure within the monopole configuration, enabling enhanced performance and precise frequency isolation. The antenna achieves a simulated isolation factor of -22 dB, demonstrating excellent suppression of interference. It resonates at 3.3 GHz for WiMAX applications and at 5.8 GHz for ISM applications, meeting the requirements for reliable and efficient wireless communication. A comprehensive parametric study was conducted to thoroughly analyze and optimize the antenna's performance characteristics. This analysis ensures that the proposed design achieves superior impedance matching, radiation efficiency, and isolation, making it a robust solution for dual-band wireless systems.

To ensure effective isolation between the targeted frequency bands, L-shaped slots are strategically integrated on both sides of the antenna. These slots are specifically designed to suppress unwanted frequency components, optimizing isolation performance at distinct rates for different bands. Additionally, a T-shaped slot is introduced along the feed line of the antenna, significantly improving the reflection loss characteristics at the required frequencies. This configuration ensures that the antenna operates efficiently within the specified bands.
