IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS

Abstract

An image processing method and apparatus. The method comprises: determining a color value of each original pixel point in an original color image, wherein N original sub-pixels comprised in any original pixel point respectively correspond to different basic colors of a color model, the color value of any original pixel point comprises color components of the N original sub-pixels for the corresponding basic colors, and N is a positive integer greater than 1; according to the color value of each original pixel point, generating mixed images respectively corresponding to N basic colors, wherein N original pixel points having one-to-one correspondence to N mixed sub-pixels comprised in any mixed pixel point corresponding to any basic color are determined from the original color image, and the color components in the color values of the N original pixel points for any basic color are respectively used as the color components of the corresponding mixed sub-pixels; and sending the mixed images to a field sequential display device, so as to display a monochromatic image corresponding to any basic color. According to the method, a bandwidth between an image coding device and the field sequential display device can be saved, and stuttering can be avoided.
