[0018] In any embodiment described herein, the open-ended terms "comprising," "comprises," and the like (which are synonymous with "including," "having" and "characterized by") may be replaced by the respective partially closed phrases "consisting essentially of," consists essentially of," and the like or the respective closed phrases "consisting of," "consists of, the like.

[0019] As used herein, the singular forms "a," "an," and "the" designate both the singular and the plural, unless expressly stated to designate the singular only.

[0020] The present invention relates to a hand-held concrete surface maintenance device that is capable of providing a means for carrying out maintenance of concrete surface in an appropriate manner thereby reducing manual efforts and time-consumption of the user in the overall process. In addition, the developed device also detects the hardness of the surface in view of applying an optimum force for properly scrubbing the surface.

[0021] Referring to Figure 1, an isometric view of a hand-held concrete surface maintenance device is illustrated, comprising an elongated body 1 having a handle 2 and arranged with a rectangular plate 3, a motorized disc 4 installed with apex portion of the plate 3 via a telescopically operated rod 5 and having bristles 6, a motorized slider crank arrangement 8 is assembled on the plate 3, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 is installed on apex of the body 1, a motorized roller 9 integrated on the arrangement 8, multiple electronically controlled valves 10 are integrated on the roller 9, and a multi-sectioned chamber 11 configured with the body 1.

[0022] The proposed device comprises of an elongated body 1 which is attached with a handle 2 that is accessed by a user for acquiring a grip over the body 1 for handling the body 1 at the time of requirement. At the free end of the body 1 a rectangular plate 3 is arranged that is poisoned by the user in proximity to a concrete surface that the user desires to perform maintenance operation. Also a motorized disc 4 is installed with apex portion of the plate 3 by means of a telescopically operated rod 5 and equipped with plurality of bristles 6. The body 1 is integrated with an inbuilt microcontroller that is pre-fed with the instructions required to control the operation of various components associated with the proposed device.

[0023] Initially, the microcontroller actuates the rod 5 to extend which is powered by a pneumatic unit associated with the device and includes an air compressor, air valves, and a piston. The air compressor used herein extract the air from surrounding and increases the pressure of the air by reducing the volume of the air. The air compressor is consist of two main parts including a motor and a pump. The motor powers the compressor pump which uses the energy from the motor drive to draw in atmospheric air and compress to elevated pressure. The compressed air is then sent through a discharge tube into the cylinder across the valve. The compressed air in the cylinder tends to pushes out the piston to extend which extends the rod 5 and followed by actuation of a motor coupled with the disc 4 to rotate the disc 4 for scrubbing the surface by means of bristles 6.

[0024] During the cleaning the microcontroller directs a tactile sensor mapped in the gripper to detect hardness of the surface. The tactile sensor employed herein is composed of an elastic body 1, ferrous probe, TMR (tunnel magneto resistive) element, and a permanent magnet. When the elastic body 1 embedded with ferrous probe touches the object under the certain size of force, deformation is produced in elastic body 1. Correspondingly, the ferrous probe is forced forward to be displaced and as a result the background magnetic field is distorted. The distorted magnetic field was detected by TMR elements and transmitted to the microcontroller in form of electrical signal. After processing the received signal, the microcontroller determine the hardness of the surface and based on which the microcontroller regulates operation of the disc 4 for properly scrubbing surface of the surface.

[0025] During the rotation of the disc 4, the user is required to move the body 1 gradually for properly scrubbings the concrete surface and remove unevenness from the surface. A color sensor which is installed on apex of the body 1 simultaneously works in synced with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 to detect color of the surface and post determination and post completion of the cleaning operation, the microcontroller the microcontroller directs a motorized slider crank arrangement 8 assembled on the plate 3 for providing linear reciprocatory movement to a motorized roller 9 integrated on the arrangement 8 along the surface.

[0026] A multi-sectioned chamber 11 configured with the body 1 and stored with different paints and the chamber 11 is paired with multiple electronically controlled valves 10 integrated on the roller 9. The slider crank arrangement 8 employed herein includes a circular disc 4 attached with a motorized slider via a crank which is arranged in a manner such rotation of disc 4 by a motor results in linear motion of crank, which in turn results in translation of roller 9 over the surface and synchronously the microcontroller directs electronically controlled valves 10 to dispense the paint solution which is stained onto a sponge fabricated on the roller 9 resulting in applying of the paint solution along the surface while the roller 9 is moving along the surface. The electronic valves 10 used herein consist of a gate and magnetic coil, which on energizing generates magnetic force to push the gate to open and allowing the paint solution to be dispensed over the sponge for applying of the paint solution along the surface while the roller 9 is moving along the surface.

[0027] A battery is associated with the device to supply power to electrically powered components which are employed herein. The battery is comprised of a pair of electrode named as a cathode and an anode. The battery use a chemical reaction of oxidation/reduction to do work on charge and produce a voltage between their anode and cathode and thus produces electrical energy that is used to do work in the device.

[0028] The present invention works well in the following manner wherean elongated body 1 which is attached with a handle 2 that is accessed by a user for acquiring a grip over the body 1 for handling the body 1 at the time of requirement. Initially, the microcontroller actuates the rod 5 to extend and followed by actuation of a motor coupled with the disc 4 to rotate the disc 4 for scrubbing the surface by means of bristles 6. During the cleaning the microcontroller directs a tactile sensor mapped in the gripper to detect hardness of the surface and based on which the microcontroller regulates operation of the disc 4 for properly scrubbing surface of the surface. During the rotation of the disc 4, the user is required to move the body 1 gradually for properly scrubbings the concrete surface and remove unevenness from the surface. A color sensor which is installed on apex of the body 1 simultaneously works in synced with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 to detect color of the surface and post determination and post completion of the cleaning operation, the microcontroller the microcontroller directs a motorized slider crank arrangement 8 assembled on the plate 3 for providing linear reciprocatory movement to a motorized roller 9 integrated on the arrangement 8 along the surface During the rotation of the disc 4, the user is required to move the body 1 gradually for properly scrubbings the concrete surface and remove unevenness from the surface.

[0029] Although the field of the invention has been described herein with limited reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limiting sense.
