ABSTRACT FAULT-INJECTION PROTECTION FOR PROCESSORS A processor (102) for providing protection against fault-injection attacks in a computing system (100) is disclosed. The processor (102) includes a fetch module (104) to fetch a sequence of instructions and 5 identify one or more control flow instruction within the sequence of instructions. The fetch module (104) generates an instruction receipt message that at least includes a sequence number corresponding to the control flow instruction. The processor (102) includes a monitoring module (112) to ascertain if the control flow instruction has been executed by an 10 execution module (108) within a specified time period to determine a possible fault-injection attack.
