Abstract
The construction industry faces significant challenges in balancing performance, sustainability, and environmental impact in pavement systems. Traditional porous pavements, while effective in enhancing drainage and reducing urban heat islands, often struggle with issues r elated to durability and environmental footprint. Recent advances in alternative materials such as alccofines and alkali activated ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) offer promising solutions but have not been extensively studied in the context of porous pavements. This study aims to address these challenges by integrating alccofines and alkali activated GGBS into porous pavement systems, assessing their combined effects on performance and sustainability. A series of experimental investigations wer e conducted to evaluate the impact of incorporating various proportions of alccofines and alkali activated GGBS in porous pavement mixtures. Key performance metrics such as permeability, compressive strength, durability, and environmental impact were syste matically analysed.

Specification
Description:The following
Materials were used
1. Cement:
Ordinary Portland cement (
2.
GGBS (Ground G ranulated Blast Furnace Slag): GGBS is used as a partial
replacement for cement. The r eplacement level can vary from 10 50 % by
weight.
3
Alccofines: Alccofines is used as a partial replacement for cement. The
replacement level can vary from 10 50% by weight.
4. Aggregates:
Standard course of size 5mm and fine aggregates used in
concrete mixes.
5.
Water: Potable water for mixing and hydration. , Claims:Claim 1: The integration of Alccofines and alkali activated GGBS results in a porous pavement
composition that exhibits at least a 25% increase in compressive strength compared to
conventional cement based porous pavements.
Claim 2: The novel mix design significantly enhances the durability of porous pavements, allowing them to withstand harsh environmental conditions (e.g., freeze-thaw cycles, chemical exposure) with a reduction in deterioration rates of at least 30%.
Claim 3 The use of Alccofines and alkali-activated GGBS creates a porous pavement with improved permeability characteristics, facilitating effective stormwater management and reducing runoff by at least 40%.
Claim 4: This innovative pavement solution decreases the carbon emissions associated with traditional concrete production by at least 50%, contributing to more sustainable construction practices.
Claim 5: The proposed combination of materials enhances the flexural strength of porous pavements, achieving improvements of at least 20% over standard mixtures, thereby increasing the pavement's load-bearing capacity.
