Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system comprising interconnected computing devices, mechanical components, and electronic sensors that communicate and collaborate seamlessly, performing tasks collectively without requiring human intervention. In this context, a "Thing" within the IoT framework can be a person, a device, or an object monitored by one or more sensors. The data gathered by these sensors are transmitted over a network for processing, and the results are utilized to execute various tasks autonomously. In IoT, devices integrated into diverse systems are linked to the internet, digitally representing themselves. This digital representation enables remote communication and control, fostering the capture of data from locations and conditions that were previously inaccessible. This connectivity significantly enhances efficiency in everyday activities and contributes to improvements in safety and security.

Specification
Description:The workflow of our drowsiness monitoring and accident detection system encompasses a
series of sequential steps designed to ensure efficient and effective operation. It. The system
enters a continuous monitoring phase, where it utilizes infrared (IR) sensors (103) mounted on
the driver's eyewear to detect eyelid movement. During the monitoring phase, the IR sensors
continuously capture data regarding the position of the driver's upper eyelid (202). This data is
processed in real-time by the Arduino Uno microcontroller (102), which analyses changes in
the IR sensor readings to determine the presence or absence of eyelid movement. If prolonged
absence of eyelid movement is detected, indicating potential drowsiness (203), the system
initiates a series of response actions. In the event of detected drowsiness, the system activates
alerts to alert the driver and mitigate the risk of accidents (204). , Claims:1. An Engine Locking System (100) comprising a power supply of the system (101), an
Arduino UNO (102), an IR Sensor (103), a DC Motor (104), a Vibration Sensor (105), a
Buzzer (106), a GSM-GPS Module (107), an LCD Display (108), a Relay Module (109),
a User Mobile (110).
2. An Engine Locking System (100) for Preventing Drunken Driving comprising:
(i) an infrared IR sensor (103) configured to detect eye blinks of a driver;
(ii) a control unit (102) connected to the IR sensor (103); the control being configured
to measure the duration of the driver's eye blinks, and compare the measured
duration to a predefined threshold of 9 seconds (203) to detect driver drowsiness;
(iii) an engine immobilizer (104) operatively connected to the control unit; the engine
immobilizer being configured to automatically lock the engine (204) if the eyeblink
duration exceeds the predefined threshold;
(iv) a vibration sensor (105) configured to detect high intensity vibrations in the vehicle,
indicative of a potential collision (206);
(v) a communication module (109) connected to the control unit (102); the
communication module being configured to send an alert message to a pre-
registered mobile number when a high-intensity vibration is detected by the
vibration sensor;
(vi) wherein, upon detection of drowsiness based on the blink duration or upon detecting
a high intensity vibration, the control unit triggers the corresponding response of
either locking the engine or sending an alert message (207).
3. An Engine Locking System (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the control unit (102)
issues a buzzer alert or visual alert to the driver when the eye blink duration exceeds a
predefined threshold, before locking the engine (204).
4. An Engine Locking System (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the communication
module (109) is further configured to transmit the vehicle's location along with the alert
message when a high-intensity vibration is detected (207).
