Abstract
The invention relates to a device and a method for reading transponders of moving objects, said method allowing multiple objects to be detected simultaneously, namely regardless of the position and the travel direction of the objects. This is achieved in that a device for reading UHF RFID signals emitted from or reflected by at least one transponder (13) of an identifier has at least one UHF RFID reading device (14). Whereas the identifier can be, for example, a vehicle registration plate, it is conceivable that the moving object is a motor vehicle (10). The at least one reading device (14) for reading the transponder (13) can be located next to, above or on a road (11) on which the object moves. The invention is characterized in that the at least one reading device (14) has an antenna in the form of a monopole antenna.
