Abstract
Watermelon is a summer refreshing fruit loaded with anti-oxidants and other nutritional component which is good for health. The fruit is cut into pieces using a knife for consumption at present watermelon cut and sold by the roadside vendors. The method is unhygienic and also takes time for cutting into pieces considering this a watermelon cutter which is compact and easily operated has been developed the cutter manually operated equipment consisting of main frame, blade, handle, tray holder & collecting tray. The overall dimension of developed was 600 x 530 x 840mm. the performance of the developed cutter was evaluated and it was found that the capacity of 500kg/h with 100% cutting efficiency. The about 83% of time could be saved by using the developed cutter compare manual cutting using knife.

, C , C , Claims:The authors claim the invention of a manually operated watermelon cutter designed for
efficient and hygienic fruit cutting. The key elements and features of the invention are as
follows:
1. Design and Construction: The cutter comprises a main frame, blade, handle, tray
holder, and collecting tray. The overall dimensions of the equipment are 600 x 530 x
840 mm, making it compact and suitable for both commercial and roadside vendor
use.
2. Performance Efficiency: The developed cutter is capable of cutting approximately
300 watermelon fruits per hour, with a cutting capacity of 500 kg/h. The device
demonstrated 100% cutting efficiency, significantly improving productivity over
traditional methods.
3. Geometrical Measurements: Prior to cutting, the geometrical dimensions of the
whole fruit, half-cut fruit, and quarter-cut fruit were accurately measured, ensuring
precise and consistent cutting.
4. Time Savings: Comparative performance studies using the Kiran variety of
watermelon revealed that the developed cutter
