Abstract
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT LUBRICATING GARMENT FOR MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM .Muscle skeletal disorder, a degenerative joint disease in which the tissues associated with joints break down, more commonly seen with older people. An effective way of treatment for this condition includes the affected person being bedridden almost 24 hours a day, so that the patient’s joint surface is in contact with the healing lubricant/oil. With ageing populations and increasing rates of obesity and injury, the prevalence of osteoarthritis has become an inevitable consequence and is expected to continue at an increased proportion globally. Despite the method being effective, we need to consider the strain with usual activities of the patient, skin burns and irritation. Henceforth, we propose a contemporary way of treatment, which includes using a hot oil/lubricant patch inside a jacket applying heat to affected joints, potentially easing stiffness and promoting relaxation

Human health is a vast subject that includes a person's entire state of mind, body, and social interactions. Numerous factors, including as genetics, lifestyle decisions, 5 environmental influences, access to healthcare, and socioeconomic status, have a role in maintaining good health. Humans suffer from osteoarthritis due to chronic joint pain and stiffness, leading to reduced mobility and impaired quality of life. In Ayurveda oil treatments for osteoarthritis, medicinal oils like Mahanarayan oil, Ksheerabala oil, or Dhanwantharam oil are typically massaged into the body Dl_ t0 lessen pain and 10 inflammation in the afflicted joints, these oils are made with herbs that have analgesic and anti-inflammatory qualities. Applying these oils to the joints through massage enhances blood flow, lubricates the joints, and reduces stiffness. Ayurveda doctors may also suggest particular oils depending on the severity of the ailment and the patient's dosage (body type).
In the past, knee and joint pain were frequently treated with traditional herbal oil massages. 15 During these massages, particular herbal oils- often heated- were applied to the afflicted joints. The goals of the massage treatments were to ease pain and stiffness, enhance circulation, and lessen inflammation. This method is still used today in many cultures to treat joint-related problems. It has long been a component of many traditional medical systems, such as Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese M e d i c i n e . I n recent innovations in 20 knee and elbow braces include Braces made with 3D printing that are tailored to each person's anatomy to provide better support and comfort. Braces with temperature and compression control that may be adjusted for specific pain alleviation and muscle healing.
Ergonomic designs and lightweight, breathable materials improve comfort throughout prolonged use. Braces equipped with ultrasound or electromagnetic technologies to 25 promote faster healing and non-invasive pain relief. In the present scenario, some common health problems include obesity, mental health issues like anxiety and depression, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, respiratory illnesses like asthma, and lifestyle-related
conditions such as hypertension and chronic pain. Additionally, infectious diseases like CO VID -19 continue to pose significant health challenges globally. Joint pain is a prevalent health issue today, affecting people of all ages. Common causes include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, injury, overuse, and inflammation. Sedentary lifestyles, obesity, and poor posture can exacerbate joint pain. Proper exercise, weight management, dietary adjustments, and medical treatments like medication or physical therapy can help manage joint pain and improve quality o f life. Treatment methods for joint pain include medication such as pain relievers and anti-inflammatories, physical therapy to strengthen muscles and improve flexibility, lifestyle changes like weight management and proper posture, joint injections for targeted relief, and surgery for severe cases. Applying oil to the body typically takes a few minutes, depending on the amount of coverage desired. A moderate application can be accomplished in 1-2 minutes, while thorough coverage may take up to 5 minutes. It's important to evenly distribute the oil, focusing on dry or problem areas, and gently massage it into the skin for optimal absorption and nourishment. There are various products are available in the market for joint pain relief. These include topical creams, gels, and patches containing ingredients like menthol, capsaicin, or N SAIDs (no steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) for localized relief. Oral supplements such as glucosamine, chondroitin, and turmeric are also popular. Additionally, there are specialized braces, wraps, and devices designed to support and alleviate joint pain. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional before trying any new product to ensure it's suitable for your specific condition. There are products incorporating oil pouches can offer a convenient solution for joint pain relief. These pouches often contain a blend o f essential oils known for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, such as peppermint, eucalyptus, or lavender. Users can apply the oil-infused pouch directly to the affected joint, allowing the oils to penetrate the skin and provide soothing relief. This approach combines the benefits o f topical application with the convenience o f pre- packaged oil delivery, making it a popular choice for individuals seeking natural remedies for joint pain. Osteoarthritis, a degenerative joint disease in which the tissues associated with joints break down more commonly seen with older people. Affected people usually go through Joint pain, temporal joint stiffness and loss o f muscular strength. Stats published by World Health Organization indicates about 528 million people are affected by Osteoarthritis as on 2019 , indicating an increase of 113% 15 when compared to the stats published in 1990. About 73% o f total affected population is comprised of people older than 55 years and 60% o f the affected people are Female. Most affected parts are knee, Hips and Hands. An effective way o f treatment for this condition includes the affected person being bedridden almost 24 hours a day, so that the patient's joint surface is in contact with the Healing lubricant/oil. With ageing populations and increasing rates o f obesity and injury, the 20 prevalence of osteoarthritis has become an inevitable consequence and is expected to continue at an increased proportion globally. Despite the method being effective, we need to consider the strain with usual activities o f the patient, skin burns and irritation occurs, so this jacket or track pant design with three layers top layer-water proof fabric life polyurethane laminate (PUL) middle layer- any Agro-based fabrics, made from natural fibres like cotton, hemp, or bamboo, offer benefits such as 25 biodegradability, breathability, and reduced environmental impact compared to synthetic materials.
These fabrics are often more sustainable, supporting eco-friendly practices in the textile industry.
Bottom layer-Wool fabric is made from the natural fibres of sheep's fleece. It is known for its
warmth, breathability, and moisture-wicking properties. The jacket contains hot oil embedded on an inner part o f it near the elbow line. Further this hot oil w ill be encapsulated near the knee joint. This positioning help to reduce the swelling prevails in knee. Ayurveda treatment for osteoarthritis will be provided by using hot oil in the form o f therapy. During this therapy patient must be in a static 5 position whereas the jacket composed of hot oil proposed in this study does not require any such kind o f rest. The patient can lead their routine without any hurdles. Henceforth we propose a contemporary way o f treatment, which includes using a hot oil/lubricant patch inside a jacket applying heat to affected joints, potentially easing stiffness and promoting relaxation. This way of contemporary approach enhances the blood circulation, providing temporary relief for sore muscles •10 and joints of the affected person. While it may improve flexibility and make daily activities more manageable, caution is necessary to prevent burns or skin irritation. It is essential to adhere to safety guidelines and consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice. This approach is not a substitute for professional medical guidance, and individuals should ensure that heat application is within safe limits. Seeking advice from a healthcare provider, is crucial for developing a 15 comprehensive osteoarthritis management plan, which may include heat therapy, medications, and
tailored interventions to address specific needs.
