COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS

Abstract

The present application relates to a communication method and apparatus. The communication method comprises: when an access network device determines that a first beam of a first cell meets a load migration condition, the access network device evaluating the performance of a first terminal device on N candidate beams according to information of the N candidate beams; and when it is determined, according to an evaluation result, that a first candidate beam meeting a performance requirement is present in the N candidate beams, the access network device migrating the first terminal device to a second cell to which the first candidate beam belongs. The load balance of a first beam is realized by means of load migration. Moreover, an access network device migrates a terminal device according to a performance evaluation result, for example, migrating a first terminal device to a cell where a candidate beam with a better performance is located, which helps to improve the communication quality of the first terminal device in a second cell.
