Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a carrier installation device for bicycles that is capable of installing carrier for bicycles for carrying a commodity by accommodating the commodity in a secured manner.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A bicycle carrier is a type of rear rack specifically designed to be mounted on the rear of a bicycle. It typically consists of a metal frame that attaches to the bicycle's seat stays or rear axle and extends over the rear wheel. Rear racks are commonly used for carrying cargo, such as groceries, luggage, or other items, while cycling. They often have a platform or rails where bags, panniers, or baskets can be attached securely. Carriers are popular among commuters, tourers, and cyclists who need to transport items while riding their bike.

[0003] Traditionally, the bicycle carrier is installed manually by using fastening tools and some clamping units. User manually tighten the bolts to fix the carrier with the bicycle. While traditional methods and traditional carriers may offer some benefits, they also pose some challenges and drawbacks. Traditional installation requires manual efforts and is time-consuming. Also, traditional bicycle carrier does not provide any inbuilt protection to the commodities from falling while the bicycle is in motion.

[0004] US11654993B1 discloses a sporting equipment carrier for mounting onto a bicycle, the carrier being able to be customized as needed to a variety of different sporting equipment despite the wildly disparate sizes and shapes of different types of equipment for different sports. A core support which attaches to the seat post of the bicycle by means of a clamp, and has members so it projects backward away from the seat over the rear wheel of the bicycle. One or more mating arms and diverse attachment points allow the connection of equipment holders on one or more sides of the rear wheel. The holders are for different types of sporting equipment: skis, snow boards, surf boards, skates, skate boards, baskets for smaller items having apertures through the sides for long smaller items, etc. The equipment holders may be easily removed and replaced with another holder.

[0005] US2023192205A1 discloses a display rack for bicycles provides opposed wheel cups for engaging the periphery of a bicycle wheel where one-wheel cup is mounted to a pivoting lever that is pressed downward on one end by the weight of the bicycle tire to move the wheel cups together providing a gravity actuated clamping that is released when the bicycle is lifted. One or more-wheel cups may extend in a channel measured in a tangent to the bicycle wheel to prevent locking to knob bicycle tires.

[0006] Conventionally, many devices have been developed that are capable of assisting a user in installing a carrier over a bicycle. However, these devices are incapable of accommodating a commodity according to the size of the commodity, and fails in providing a secure space for carrying commodity of different sizes. Additionally, these existing devices also lack in covering the commodity that is to be carried on bicycle, which may cause falling down of the commodity while the bicycle is in motion.

[0007] In order to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks, there exists a need in the art to develop a device for bicycles that needs to be capable of installing a carrier over a bicycle in an effective manner while also accommodating a commodity in a secured manner, according to the size of the commodity. Additionally, the proposed device is also capable to cover the commodity that is to be carried on bicycle to protect the commodity from falling down while the bicycle is in motion and also from adverse climatic conditions.


OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.

[0009] An object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of installing carrier for bicycles for carrying a commodity by accommodating the commodity in a secured manner.

[0010] Another object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of covering the commodity that is to be carried on bicycle to ensure that the commodity does not fall down.

[0011] Another object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of protecting the commodity being carried on bicycle from adverse weather condition through a means provided in proposed invention.

[0012] Yet another objective is to develop a device that is durable and easy to operate.

[0013] The foregoing and other objects, features, and advantages of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0014] The present invention relates to a carrier installation device for bicycles that is capable of installing a carrier over a bicycle in an effective and secured manner. Additionally, the proposed device is also capable to accommodate a commodity according to the detected size of the commodity.

[0015] According to an embodiment of the present invention, a carrier installation device for bicycles, comprises of a frame including a pair of rods developed to be installed on a seat and chain stay of a bicycle, the rods are integrated with clamping units that are secured with the seat and chain stays for providing stability to the frame on the bicycle, a platform installed on the rods at a rear portion of the bicycle, the platform is configured with multiple bars arranged in a mesh type arrangement, each of the bars are installed on motorized sliders configured with the platform in view of being translated as per requirement of a commodity which needs to be carried on the bicycle, an artificial intelligence enabled image capturing module integrated with a processor for determining dimension of the commodities, and the slider translate the bars in a manner that the commodities is properly accommodated on the platform.

[0016] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the proposed device further comprises of an extendable C-shaped covering unit integrated with the platform via motorized hinges, soon after the commodities are properly accommodated on the platform the hinges deploy the covering unit over the platform to secure the commodities from falling down while the bicycle is in motion and also from adverse climatic conditions, the clamping units are integrated with rust sensor that determines presence of rust on portions of the seat and chain stays, a speaker integrated on the frame to generate alarming sound to aware the user regarding change in clamping of the units over the stays, and a battery is associated with the device that powers all electrical and electronically operated components of the device.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Therefore, the present description should be seen as illustrative and not limiting. [0023] Referring to Figure 1, an isometric view of a carrier installation device for bicycles comprising, a frame 1 including a pair of rods 3 developed to be installed on a seat and chain stay of a bicycle, the rods 3 are attached with clamping units 2, a platform 4 installed on rods 3 at a rear portion of bicycle, an artificial intelligence enabled image capturing module 5 integrated with a processor mapped on frame, an extendable C-shaped covering unit 6 integrated with platform 4 via motorized hinges.

[0024] The proposed device comprises of a frame 1 including a pair of rods 3 developed to be mapped on a seat and chain stay of a bicycle. The frame 1 made up of stainless steel that offers a corrosion resistant, strength and durability to the device and is easy to maintain. Herein, the rods 3 are attached with clamping units 2 that are secured with seat and chain stays for providing stability to frame 1 on bicycle. The clamping unit is linked with a hinge that is activated by the microcontroller to provide back and forth movement of the clamp to provide stability to frame 1 on bicycle. The hinge typically refers a mechanical joint that allows rotational movement around a fixed axis using a motor or actuator which provides the rotational force required to move the joint. The motor is typically controlled by an electronic control unit that regulates its speed and direction. The hinge consists of a hinge mechanism that enables rotation around a fixed axis. It usually consists of two parts: a stationary component and a moving component. The stationary component is securely attached to one part of the clamping unit, while the moving component is connected to the other part that aids in providing back and forth movement to the clamping unit for providing stability to frame 1 on bicycle.

[0025] Further, the clamping units 2 are attached with rust sensor that determines presence of rust on portions of seat and chain. The rust sensor designed to detect the presence or progression of rust on metal surfaces, it utilizes technology such as electrical resistance measurement, ultrasonic testing, or even visual inspection algorithms. These sensors can provide early warnings of rust formation, allowing for preventive maintenance thereby determining presence of rust of the seat and chain stays. Further, a microcontroller linked with rust sensor after processing determined rust if evaluates level of rust accumulation to be above a threshold level. Then, the microcontroller actuates a speaker attached on frame 1 to generate alarming sound to aware user regarding change in clamping of units over stays. The speaker receives audible signals from the microcontroller where it processes and amplifies the received audio signals through a series of equipment in a specific way within the speaker. After amplification of the received signals, the speaker generates an output signal in the form of audible sound wave which is then send to the loud speaker for alerting the user regarding change in clamping of units over stays.

[0026] Herein, a platform 4 is mapped on the rods 3 at rear portion of bicycle, wherein platform 4 is attached with multiple bars positioned in a mesh type arrangement. Further, each of the bars are mapped on motorized sliders attached with platform 4 for being translated as per requirement of a commodity which needs to be carried on bicycle. The motorized slider consists of a sliding-rail and multiple rolling members which are integrated with a step motor. On actuation the step motor rotates the rolling members in order to provide rolling motion to the members which results in sliding of the rod over the sliding-rail thereby translating the multiple bars as per requirement of a commodity which needs to be carried on bicycle.

[0027] Thereafter, the microcontroller actuates an artificial intelligence enabled image capturing module 5 integrated with a processor for determining dimension of commodities. The artificial intelligence enabled image capturing module 5 comprises of a processor and a camera which on actuation capture the multiple images of the user. The camera is comprised of a lens and a digital camera sensor, wherein the camera lens takes all the light rays rebounding around the user and utilizes the lenses to transmit them to a single point for creating a sharp image. When all of those light rays rebound back and meet together on a digital camera sensor, create a digital image of the user by performing various operations like pre-processing, feature extraction and classification which is transmitted to the processor. The processor further extracts all the required information from the digital images and transmit to an inbuilt microcontroller associated with the device, which further processes the information shared by the processor in order to determine dimension of commodities. Based on processed dimension, a microcontroller linked with module directs slider to translate bars in a manner that commodities properly accommodated on platform.

[0028] After accommodation of commodities on platform 4 as monitored through image capturing module, an extendable C-shaped covering unit 6 attached with platform 4 via motorized hinges actuated by microcontroller to deploy covering unit 6 over platform. The motorized hinge are mechanical bearings that are used to connect two swinging objects or points to one another and give them the freedom to move relative to each other. Hinges have limited movement, allowing the joint to move only at one angle and restrict the other movements of swinging parts thereby deploying covering unit 6 over platform 4 to secure commodities from falling down while bicycle is in motion and also from adverse climatic condition.

[0029] A battery is associated with the device to supply power to electrically powered components which are employed herein. The battery is comprised of a pair of electrodes named as a cathode and an anode. The battery uses a chemical reaction of oxidation/reduction to do work on charge and produce a voltage between their anode and cathode and thus produces electrical energy that is used to do work in the device.

[0030] The present invention works best in the following manner, where the frame 1 as disclosed in the invention includes pair of rods 3 developed to be mapped on a seat and chain stay of a bicycle, wherein rods 3 with clamping units 2 that are secured with seat and chain stays for providing stability to frame 1 on bicycle. Herein, the platform 4 with multiple bars arranged in a mesh type arrangement wherein each of bars are mapped on motorized sliders attached with platform 4 for being translated as per requirement of a commodity which needs to be carried on bicycle. Thereafter, the microcontroller actuates the artificial intelligence enabled image capturing module 5 for determining dimension of commodities. Based on processed dimension, a microcontroller linked with module directs slider to translate bars in a manner that commodities properly accommodated on platform. After accommodation of commodity on platform 4 as monitored through image capturing module, the microcontroller actuates the extendable C-shaped covering unit 6 to deploy covering unit 6 over platform 4 to secure commodities from falling down while bicycle is in motion and also from adverse climatic conditions.

Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternate embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention. , Claims:1) A carrier installation device for bicycles, comprising:

i) a frame 1 including a pair of rods 3 developed to be installed on a seat and chain stay of a bicycle, wherein said rods 3 are integrated with clamping units 2 that are secured with said seat and chain stays for providing stability to said frame 1 on said bicycle;
ii) a platform 4 installed on said rods 3 at a rear portion of said bicycle, wherein said platform 4 is configured with multiple bars arranged in a mesh type arrangement, wherein each of said bars are installed on motorized sliders configured with said platform 4 in view of being translated as per requirement of a commodity which needs to be carried on said bicycle;
iii) an artificial intelligence enabled image capturing module 5 integrated with a processor for capturing and processing multiple images of said commodity which needs to be carried on said platform 4 in view of determining dimension of said commodities, wherein a microcontroller linked with said module, based on said processed dimension, directs said slider to translate said bars in a manner that said commodities is properly accommodated on said platform; and
iv) an extendable C-shaped covering unit 6 integrated with said platform 4 via motorized hinges, wherein soon after said commodities are properly accommodated on said platform 4 as monitored through said image capturing module, said microcontroller directs said hinges to deploy said covering unit 6 over said platform 4 to secure said commodities from falling down while said bicycle is in motion and also from adverse climatic conditions.

2) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said clamping units 2 are integrated with rust sensor that determines presence of rust on portions of said seat and chain stays and a microcontroller linked with said rust sensor upon processing said determined rust if evaluates level of said rust accumulation to be above a threshold level, then said microcontroller directs a speaker integrated on said frame 1 to generate alarming sound to aware said user regarding change in clamping of said units over said stays.

3) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a battery is associated with said device that powers all electrical and electronically operated components of said device.
