Abstract
Abstract Right-sided dental chairs are commonly used in dental practice. However, it cannot be stated that all the practitioners are right-handers. Although there is no report in the literature about the decreased performance of left-handed practitioner on rightsided dental chairs, it can not be denied that the overall average performance oflefthanded practitioners could be improved by providing the opportunity to work from the left side of the patient. The Solution Provided in this invention "Ball Bearing Dental Chair for Left Handed Dentists" is the easy rotation of the dental chair accessories from right side to left side and vice versa. The back rest of the dental chair is made flat and then the entire accessory is rotated. The base of the dental chair seat assembly occupies a metal ball bearing plate unit, to which the dental accessory unit is joined/ welded. The Ball Bearing Plate enables easy movement of the dental accessory unit from right side to left side.

Title of the Invention:
Ball Bearing Dental Chair for Left Handed Dentists.
Field of Invention
Dentistry
Introduction
Dentistry is the field of medicine that is concerned about diseases of the teeth and
other tissues and bone structures in the oral cavity. It is different to a degree from
other medical services in its product attributes, market characteristics, and the level
of government involvement. The action of the dental chair is controlled by the
control switch on the chair back. Its working principle is that the control switch starts
the motor and drives the transmission mechanism to move the corresponding parts
of the dental chair.
There are dentists that work in a sitting position and there are dentists that work in a
standing position. To work in a position regarding sitting or standing is a matter of
choice. When you would like to work in a sitting position you can do it even while
you are working in a standing position. Even in a day one many prefer them
consequently. But when it comes to handedness it is not so easy to change your
working hand. There may be some special individuals that they might be able to use .
both hands with the same degree of ability. However, they should be considered as
exceptions. Generally there are right- and left-handed people. Unfortunately in many
dental schools there is no chair designed for left-handed students. This may inversely
affect dental practice.

Background
History
The first real dental chair was invented in 1790 by an American dentist, Dr. Josiah
Flagg. He modified his writing chair into the first dental chair. He attached a working
tray, created wider armrests and added a small headrest to improve functionality.
Dentistry is a stressful occupational demanding concentration and precision. A
successful treatment of any dental problem based on skillful performances of along
with the anatomy and location of teeth, selection of a well-adapted instrument,
proper angulation of the instrument, and proper position of the patient and especially
the dentists as well as manual skill (Badersten et al., 1985; O'Leary, 1986; Brayer et
al., 1989; Carranza, 1996).

Objectives
1. To Provide better dental chair for left handed dentists.
2. To provide easy movement of the dental accessory unit from right side
to left side.
Summary of the Invention
This invention "Ball Bearing Dental Chair fur Lefi Handed Dentists" is the easy
rotation of the dental chair accessories from right side to left side and vice versa. The
back rest of the dental chair is made flat and then the entire accessory is rotated. The
base of the dental chair seat assembly occupies a metal ball bearing plate unit, to
which the dental accessory unit is joined/ welded. The Ball Bearing Plate enables
easy movement of the dental accessory unit from right side to left side.
The performance ofleft-handed dental students, when working from the left side of
the patient, was significantly better than the average for right-handed students
working from the right side of the patient, dramatically better than left-handed
students working from the right side of the patient.
Ergonomic chairs support the natural'S' shape of the spine, which prevents slumping
and reduces stress on the spine and the pelvis. An adjustable backrest allows users
to align the curve in the chair with the curve in their spine, for optimal su ort .

Detailed Description
Modem dental chairs are a combination of metal and plastic, usually injected with
antibacterial agents to minimize the risk of infection. A thin chair back is specially
designed to facilitate the dentist to sit behind the patient, so as to facilitate the
patient's treatment.
The dental chair is designed to position patients comfortably for dental procedures
while providing dentists with easy access to the patient's mouth and dental
instruments. An ergonomic dental chair reduces physical strain, enhances patient
comfort, improves efficiency, and enhances safety. It positively impacts both the
dentist and the patient, leading to increased productivity, improved patient
experience, reduced risk of injury, and improved quality of care.
The Solution Provided in this invention "Ball Bearing Dental Chair for Left
Handed Dentists" is the easy rotation of the dental chair accessories from right side
to left side and vice versa. The back rest of the dental chair is made flat and then the
entire accessory is rotated. The base of the dental chair seat assembly occupies a
metal ball bearing plate unit, to which the dental accessory unit is joined/ welded.
The Ball Bearing Plate enables easy movement of the dental accessory unit fro
right side to left side .
