Abstract

ABSTRACT An automated irrigation system (100) is disclosed. Further, the system (100) comprising at least one soil moisture sensor (102) configured to measure the moisture content of the soil. Further, at least one processor (104) configured to collect data from the soil moisture sensor(s) (102) to determine whether the soil moisture content is below a pre-set threshold level. Further, a water pump (106) operatively connected to the at least one processor (104). Further, one or more sprinklers (108) connected to the water pump (106). Further, the at least one processor (104) is further configured to activate the water pump (106) when the soil moisture content falls below the threshold level, causing the water pump (106) to supply water from a water source to the one or more sprinklers (108). Further. the one or more sprinklers (108) are configured to spray water onto crops, thereby irrigating the soil.

Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to a field of agricultural management and in particular relates to an automated irrigation system.
BACKGROUND

[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] Traditional irrigation systems often rely on manual monitoring and control, requiring farmers or field operators to inspect soil conditions periodically and determine when to irrigate. This manual process is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and prone to human error, resulting in inconsistent watering sc , Claims:1. An automated irrigation system (100), the system (100) comprising:
at least one soil moisture sensor (102) configured to measure the moisture content of the soil;
at least one processor (104) configured to collect data from the soil moisture sensor(s) (102) to determine whether the soil moisture content is below a pre-set threshold level;
a water pump (106) operatively connected to the at least one processor (104);
one or more sprinklers (108) connected to the water pump (106;
wherein the at least one processor (104) is further configured to activate the water pump (106) when the soil moisture content falls below the threshold level, causing the water pump (106) to supply water from a water source to the one or more sprinklers (108),
wherein the one or more sprinklers (108) are configured to spray water onto crops, thereby irrigating the soil.

2. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one processor (104) is further configured to deactivate the water pump (106) upon detecting that
