Abstract

Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to an automated guitar mounting device capable of providing a means for detecting dimensions and type of guitar and accordingly adjust to securely accommodate the guitar as per user requirements.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The roles of the guitar in both classical as well as popular music are incredibly versatile, making it one of the most exciting and rewarding instruments to learn. Playing guitar improve coordination as well as fine motor skills. In the concerts or music fest the singers use the guitars during their singing.
[0003] Generally, the user holds the guitars in their hand putting the strap that is attached to the guitar on their shoulder to get extra precaution. However, this method is not reliable as guitar sometimes slip from the hand and gets damaged or user loses balance during performance leading to his fall resulting in the damage of the guitar. This method is tiring for the users during their performance as well as consumes lot of efforts of the user.
[0004] US8235344B1 discloses a guitar holder comprising a mounting member for mounting to a structure, a main body rotatably attached to the mounting member for angularly rotating the main body with respect to the structure, and two arm portions extending from the main body in generally opposing directions with each arm portion having a guitar engaging end for attachable engaging a guitar and at least one arm portion being adjustably extendable from the main body to accommodate guitars of different sizes.
[0005] US7541529B1discloses a guitar mounting device that allows an individual, particularly a guitar player, to mount his or her guitar on the side of an amplifier. The device is fabricated from a leather strap attached to the side of an amplifier casing and also a number of slits so that a guitar with an external button can be connected to one of the slits. In addition, the device includes a wire frame and an attachable, flexible cord that allows the neck of the guitar neck to be secured to the device.
[0006] Conventionally, many devices have been developed that are capable of providing means to mount the guitar. However, these devices are incapable of detecting dimensions as well as type of guitar to securely accommodate the guitar. Additionally, theses devices fail to grip pegs of the guitar to lose the strings by rotating in a pre-defined direction according to the user requirement.
[0007] In order to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks, there exists a need in the art to develop a device that is capable of gripping neck portion of the guitar as per the detected dimensions to accordingly adjust to be positioned beneath the guitar for providing support to the base potion of the guitar. In addition, the proposed equipment is capable of gripping pegs of the guitar and accordingly adjust to rotate in a pre-defined direction to loosen strings of the guitar as per user requirements.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.
[0009] An object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of detecting dimensions and type of guitar and accordingly adjust to securely accommodate the guitar as per user requirements.
[0010] Another object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of gripping neck portion of the guitar as per the detected dimensions and accordingly adjust to be positioned beneath the guitar for providing support to the base potion of the guitar.
[0011] Yet another object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of gripping pegs of the guitar and accordingly adjust to rotate in a pre-defined direction to loosen strings of the guitar as per user requirements.
[0012] The foregoing and other objects, features, and advantages of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0013] The present invention relates to an automated guitar mounting device that is capable of gripping neck portion of the guitar according to the detected dimension in view of adjusting to be positioned beneath the guitar to provide support to the base portion of the guitar. The proposed device also grips the pegs of the guitar in view of rotating in a pre-defined direction to lose strings of the guitar according to the requirement of the user.
[0014] According to an embodiment of the present invention, an automated guitar mounting device, comprises of a platform affixed with surface of a wall by means of plurality of suction units installed with the platform, the suction units actuates to create a negative pressure to affix the platform with the surface in a secured manner, a U-shaped member configured with the platform by means of a motorized sliding unit to engage neck portion of a guitar that is to be accommodated, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit installed over the platform integrated with a processor for capturing as well as processing images of the guitar determines dimensions as well as type of the guitar to accordingly actuates the sliding unit to position the member at appropriate height to accommodate the guitar, a motorized drawer arrangement installed within the member to provide appropriate extension or retraction to the member in view of gripping the neck portion in a secured manner, a curved flap installed with bottom portion of the platform by means of a motorized hinge joint to orient as well as position the flap beneath the guitar for providing support to base portion of the guitar and a pair of inverted L-shaped telescopic rods arranged over lateral sides of the platform to extend as well as position a motorized extendable gripper configured with each of the rod over lateral sides of the guitar.
[0015] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the proposed device further comprises of a robotic arm installed over the platform to grip pegs of the guitar in order to rotate in a pre-defined direction to loosen strings of the guitar, a weight sensor is installed over the member to monitor weight of the guitar, a speaker installed over the platform to produce a voice command to notify the user regarding the exceeded weight, a motorized ball or socket joint installed between the sliding unit or member to provide rotation to the member in view of correcting the orientation and a battery is associated with the device for powering up electrical or electronically operated components associated with the device.

[0022] Referring to Figure 1, an isometric view of an automated guitar mounting device is illustrated, comprising a platform 1 affixed with surface of a wall by means of plurality of suction units 2 installed with the platform 1, U-shaped member 3 configured with the platform 1 by means of a motorized sliding unit 4, artificial intelligence based imaging unit 5 installed over the platform 1, motorized drawer arrangement 6 installed within the member 3, curved flap 7 installed with bottom portion of the platform 1 by means of a motorized hinge joint 8, inverted L-shaped telescopic rods 9 installed over lateral sides of the platform 1, motorized extendable gripper 10 configured with each of the rod 9, robotic arm 11 installed over the platform 1, a speaker 12 installed over the platform 1 and a motorized ball and socket joint 13 installed between the sliding unit 4 and member 3.

The plurality of suction units 2 used herein rages from (2 to 4). The suction units 2 work by atmospheric pressure, creating a partial vacuum, atmospheric pressure outside forces air into the cylinder, whence it is permitted to escape by an outlet valve to create a negative pressure to affix the platform 1 with the surface in a secured manner.
[0024] Moreover, a U-shaped member 3 configured with the platform 1 by means of a motorized sliding unit 4 that is actuated by an inbuilt microcontroller to engage neck portion of a guitar that is to be accommodated. The motorized sliding unit 4 consists of a motor, rails and a lead/belt screw. The motor actuated by the microcontroller generated electrical current that drives the shaft providing rotational movement to the lead/belt screw microcontroller to engage neck portion of a guitar that is to be accommodated. Wherein an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 installed over the platform 1 and integrated with a processor for capturing and processing images of the guitar.
[0025] The imaging unit 5 comprises of an image capturing arrangement including a set of lenses that captures multiple images of the guitar and the captured images are stored within memory of the imaging unit 5 in form of an optical data. The imaging unit 5 also comprises of a processor that is integrated with artificial intelligence protocols, such that the processor processes the optical data and extracts the required data from the captured images. The extracted data is further converted into digital pulses and bits and are further transmitted to the microcontroller. The microcontroller processes the received data and determines dimensions and type of the guitar. Accordingly, the microcontroller actuates sliding unit 4 to position the member 3 at appropriate height to accommodate the guitar.
[0026] Moreover, a motorized drawer arrangement 6 installed within the member 3 and actuated by the microcontroller to provide appropriate extension and retraction to the member 3 in view of gripping the neck portion in a secured manner. The motorized drawer arrangement 6 includes a motor and guided rail. The microcontroller powers the motor to generate electrical current that drives the rails to extend/retract to provide extension and retraction to the member 3 in view of gripping the neck portion in a secured manner. Wherein upon gripping of the neck portion, a curved flap 7 installed with bottom portion of the platform 1 by means of a motorized hinge joint 8 that is actuated by the microcontroller to orient and position the flap 7 beneath the guitar for providing support to base portion of the guitar.
[0027] The motorized hinge joint 8 used herein, are piece of metal that joins two sides or items together and allows it to be opened or closed by revolving along the longitudinal axis whose operation is governed by a DC motor to orient and position the flap 7 beneath the guitar for providing support to base portion of the guitar. Further, a pair of inverted L-shaped telescopic rods 9 installed over lateral sides of the platform 1 that are actuated by the microcontroller to extend and position a motorized extendable gripper 10 configured with each of the rod over lateral sides of the guitar, wherein upon positioning of the gripper 10, the microcontroller actuates the gripper 10 to extend and grip the lateral sides of the guitar.
[0028] The pair of inverted L-shaped telescopic rods 9 and extendable gripper 10 are powered by a pneumatic unit. The pneumatic unit includes air valves and piston attached with the telescopic rods 9. The piston is coupled to the telescopic rods 9 penetrating the compressed air released from the compressor over the telescopic rods 9. The valves used herein, are air valves installed between the compressor and piston that upon actuation enables release of the compressed air through the piston to extend and position the motorized extendable gripper 10 configured with each of the rod over lateral sides of the guitar and the gripper 10 to extend and grip the lateral sides of the guitar.
[0029] Moreover, a robotic arm 11 installed over the platform 1 and actuated by the microcontroller to grip pegs of the guitar and rotate in a pre-defined direction to loosen strings of the guitar. The robotic arm 11 includes a flexible link connected with multiple motorized ball and socket joint 13 and an arm 11 the mimics a human hand for smooth and precise gripping of the books. The motorized ball and socket joint 13 includes a motor powered by the microcontroller generating electrical current, a ball shaped element and a socket. The ball moves freely within the socket. The motor rotates the ball in various directions that is controlled by the microcontroller that further commands the motor to position the ball precisely. The microcontroller further actuates the motor to generate electrical current to rotate in the joint to grip pegs of the guitar and rotate in a pre-defined direction to loosen strings of the guitar. Wherein in case the detected type of guitar corresponds to an electric guitar, the microcontroller actuates robotic arm 11 to roll electric cable of the electric guitar.
[0030] Wherein, in case the microcontroller by means of the imaging unit 5 determine incorrect orientation of the guitar, the microcontroller actuates a motorized ball and socket joint 13 installed between the sliding unit 4 and member 3, to provide rotation to the member 3 in view of correcting the orientation. The motorized ball and socket joint 13 includes a motor powered by the microcontroller generating electrical current, a ball shaped element and a socket. The ball moves freely within the socket. The motor rotates the ball in various directions that is controlled by the microcontroller that further commands the motor to position the ball precisely. The microcontroller further actuates the motor to generate electrical current to rotate in the joint to provide rotation to the member 3 in view of correcting the orientation.
[0031] Moreover, the microcontroller actuates a weight sensor installed over the member 3 to monitor weight of the guitar. The weight sensor comprises of a convoluted diaphragm and a sensing module. Due to the weight of the guitar, the size of the diaphragm changes which is detected by the sensing module. The sensing module detects the quantity of the guitar and on the basis of the changes in sizes of the diaphragm, the acquired data is forwarded to the microcontroller in the form of a signal for further processing to monitor weight of the guitar. In case the monitored weight exceeds a threshold value, the microcontroller actuates a speaker 12 installed over the platform 1 to produce a voice command to notify the user regarding the exceeded weight.
[0032] The speaker 12 comprises of a voice coil and a permanent magnet. The microcontroller actuates the speaker 12 thereby generating electrical current via the voice coil which further produces an electric field that interacts with the magnetic field of the permanent magnet attached to the speaker 12. Due to attraction and repelling of like charges with each other, an audio signal is sent via the voice coil due to which, a musical waveform is produced that moves up and down, the voice coil gets attracted and repelled by the permanent magnet. Due to attraction and repelling of the voice coil by the permanent magnet, a cone attached with the voice coil moves back and forth creating pressure waves in the air perceiving as voice commands from the speaker 12 to generate audio alerts to produce audio signals to produce audio notification for the user regarding the exceeded weight.
[0033] Furthermore, the battery (not shown in fig.) is installed with the device to power all electrical and electronic component necessary for their operation. The battery is linked to the microcontroller and provides (DC) Direct Current to the microcontroller. And then, based on the order of operations, the microcontroller sends that current to those specific electrical or electronic components so they effectively carry out their appropriate function.
[0034] The present invention works best in the following manner, where the platform 1 as disclosed in the invention is developed to be affixed with surface, wherein the suction units 2 create a negative pressure to affix the platform 1 with the surface in a secured manner and the U-shaped member 3 by means of a motorized sliding unit 4 that engage neck portion of the guitar that is to be accommodated. The artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 is used for capturing and processing images of the guitar to determine dimensions and type of the guitar, wherein the motorized drawer arrangement 6 to provide appropriate extension and retraction to the member 3 in view of gripping the neck portion in a secured manner and the motorized hinge joint 8 to orient and position the curved flap 7 beneath the guitar for providing support to base portion of the guitar. The inverted L-shaped telescopic rods 9 extend and position the motorized extendable gripper 10 over lateral sides of the guitar and the gripper 10 to extend and grip the lateral sides of the guitar and the robotic arm 11 to grip pegs of the guitar and rotate in a pre-defined direction to loosen strings of the guitar.

Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternate embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention. , Claims:1) An automated guitar mounting device, comprising:
i) a platform 1 affixed with surface of a wall by means of plurality of suction units 2 installed with said platform 1, wherein said suction units 2 actuates to create a negative pressure to affix said platform 1 with said surface in a secured manner;
ii) a U-shaped member 3 configured with said platform 1 by means of a motorized sliding unit 4 that is actuated by said microcontroller to engage neck portion of a guitar that is to be accommodated, wherein an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 5 installed over said platform 1 and integrated with a processor for capturing and processing images of said guitar, based on which a microcontroller linked with said processor, determines dimensions and type of said guitar and accordingly actuates said sliding unit 4 to position said member 3 at appropriate height to accommodate said guitar;
iii) a motorized drawer arrangement 6 installed within said member 3 and actuated by said microcontroller to provide appropriate extension and retraction to said member 3 in view of gripping said neck portion in a secured manner, wherein upon gripping of said neck portion, a curved flap 7 installed with bottom portion of said platform 1 by means of a motorized hinge joint 8 that is actuated by said microcontroller to orient and position said flap 7 beneath said guitar for providing support to base portion of said guitar;
iv) a pair of inverted L-shaped telescopic rods 9 installed over lateral sides of said platform 1 that are actuated by said microcontroller to extend and position a motorized extendable gripper 10 configured with each of said rod over lateral sides of said guitar, wherein upon positioning of said gripper 10, said microcontroller actuates said gripper 10 to extend and grip said lateral sides of said guitar; and
v) A robotic arm 11 installed over said platform 1 and actuated by said microcontroller to grip pegs of said guitar and rotate in a pre-defined direction to loosen strings of said guitar.
2) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a weight sensor is installed over said member 3 to monitor weight of said guitar and in case said monitored weight exceeds a threshold value, said microcontroller actuates a speaker 12 installed over said platform 1 to produce a voice command to notify said user regarding said exceeded weight.
3) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein in case said microcontroller by means of said imaging unit 5 determine incorrect orientation of said guitar, said microcontroller actuates a motorized ball and socket joint 13 installed between said sliding unit 4 and member 3, to provide rotation to said member 3 in view of correcting said orientation.
4) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein in case said detected type of guitar corresponds to an electric guitar, said microcontroller actuates said robotic arm 11 to roll electric cable of said electric guitar.
5) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a battery is associated with said device for powering up electrical and electronically operated components associated with said device.
