Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an assistance information sending method and apparatus, an assistance information receiving method and apparatus, and a communication apparatus and a storage medium. The assistance information sending method comprises: determining a requirement for using discontinuous reception (DRX); determining DRX assistance information corresponding to the requirement, wherein the DRX assistance information is at least used for indicating DRX configuration information desired by a terminal; and sending the DRX assistance information to a network device. According to the present disclosure, a terminal can determine, according to a requirement for using DRX, DRX configuration information desired by the terminal under the requirement, and then carry the desired DRX configuration information in DRX assistance information and send same to a network device, such that the network device can learn of the DRX configuration information desired by the terminal. Therefore, when the network device configures the terminal according to the DRX configuration information desired by the terminal, it can be ensured that different requirements of the terminal are met.
