ABSTRACT AN INTERACTIVE WRITING PAD WITH PEN The present invention discloses an interactive writing pad with an AI-powered pen is designed for visually challenged students, facilitating accessible learning, note-taking, and examination. The device activates via a Power Button (1) and features an AI Assist (3) that guides users through options, offers topic explanations, and supports independent exercises. Key functions include an Audio Recorder (2) for note-taking, a Save Button (5) for secure storage, and a Notes Key (4) for accessing saved materials. Navigation is made easy through Up and Down Controls (8) and an Enter/Pause/Play Button (6), with a Volume Controller (9) for audio adjustment. Students receive questions audibly via a Speaker (11) or connected headphones and respond using the microphone (12) on the pad or pen, which records and saves responses automatically. The device also includes a Display (14) for partially sighted users and Charging Ports for both pad (10) and pen (15), ensuring consistent use. TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to the field of smart education. More specifically, the present invention is related to an interactive writing pad and writing pen for the betterment of the education and the process of writing the examination for the visually impaired students.
BACKGROUND
The children with visual challenges are affected in their education in various ways specifically the learning process using a braille is very slow and complex, which leads to demotivation among the students and many quit due to this.
Children who are visually challenged who faces challenge of writing during their academic life especially during examinations where they need the provisions of a scribe. The purpose of rehabilitating people with disabilities is to reduce the dependence on other people. In order to achieve this fundamental right to be independent, it is important to develop innovative strategies and solutions to come up with some hardware tools like writing pen and writing pad for children with specific learning difficulties so that their academic life does not become a hurdle in realising their full potential.
Educational boards provide several relaxations for students with learning disabilities (SLD) during examinations such as having a scribe during exams. A scribe writes answers as dictated by the child. However, it has some disadvantages as well like some students may become overly reliant on scribes, affecting their independent writing skills. Students may feel uncomfortable dictating their answers to someone else. Availability of trained scribes can be a challenge, especially during exams.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The primary objective of this invention is to empower visually impaired students to independently complete exams without relying on a scribe. The writing pad provides a supportive tool that allows students to listen to questions and respond verbally. This setup offers students a new level of autonomy and privacy in their test-taking experience, helping them feel more self-reliant and confident.
In conventional exam settings, visually challenged students often require a scribe to write their responses, which can sometimes hinder their ability to communicate answers accurately and in full. By enabling audio playback of exam questions and voice recording for answers, this writing pad circumvents the need for external assistance. This approach reduces potential communication barriers and provides students with a direct, accessible means of answering questions.
