This invention particularly relates to an improvised multi-track ball bearing system of top rollers in the spinning sector of textile industry which is used in the textile manufacturing field at different stages for extraction of Sliver and Yarn. The present disclosure relates to certain improvisations carried out on the invention disclosed in patent application no. 202341028642 titled 'A multi-track ball bearing system of top rollers in the spinning sector of textile industry' filed on 20.04.2023. The improvisations particularly relate to a one-end closed BOSS (1), Slotted Hex Nut (3), Flat Countersunk Screw (4) and a Thrust Guide Bush (2).
The One-end closed BOSS (1) is a custom-made part, which eliminates the need for "End Cap" and associated "14mm Diameter O-Ring" as used originally. It avoids potential damage of "End Cap" during Rubber Cot mounting on the BOSS and provides improved structural stability during manufacturing and field operation due to one-end closed design. It also provides increased assembly speed and reduce number of parts/ assembly errors.
The Slotted Hex Nut (3) is a custom-made part, a slot has been made on the Hex Nut providing space for the Bearing Grade Balls to sit precisely during locking process. It aids robust and fool-proof locking and improves assembly process and reduces operator error by holding the balls during its initial free movement stage.
The Flat Countersunk Screw (4) replaces Hex Grub Screw as used originally. It improves locking mechanism by gradually pushing the 2x bearing grade balls with equally distributed force and securing them in the Thrust Guide Bush. It avoids any situation of unscrewing of Grub Screw after prolonged usage due to constant vibrations during operation. It also eliminates the need of "8mm Diameter O-Ring" as used originally. It provides a simplified assembly method with robust and fool-proof locking.
The Thrust Guide Bush (2) eliminates the need for "Slanted/Inclined Surface" as used originally. A radius has been added to securely hold 2x bearing grade balls which are ejected during locking process. The Bearing grade balls get seated well in the newly introduced radius groove for fool-proof locking and facilitate self-adjusting to complete the assembly of the current invention. The Groove design aids in pushing the Bearing Grade Balls on the angled surface of Shell due to pressing action by the bottom surface of Thrust Guide Bush (2).
During assembly, either Ball cage or the bareback Shell groove is assembled with 3.0 mm (1.5 radius) Bearing Grade Balls. Parallelly, Flat countersunk screw (4) is inserted into the Slotted Hex Nut (3). This screw-nut sub-assembly is further inserted inside the Shell bore. Additionally, 2 Nos. of Ø3.0 Balls gets inserted into the holes at the end of the Shell - aligning balls with Shell diameter.
As next step, Thrust Guide Bush (2) is inserted into the One-end closed BOSS (1) and pushed all the way inside. Predetermined number of Ø3.0 Balls is placed in the internal "V" groove of the one-end closed BOSS (1) using grease. This Thrust Guide Bush (2) - Bearing Grade Balls and BOSS (1) sub-assembly is slid on the Shell enabling the Top Roller structure (dumbbell).
Retaining control on radial & axial lash which allows true running clearance, the overall assembly is ready to be fully tightened via a firm locking mechanism. The Flat Countersunk Screw (4) & Slotted Hex Nut (3) plays a pivotal role in locking - as the screw is tightened using an Allen Key inserted through the center hole in the one-end closed BOSS (1), the Slotted Hex Nut (3) gets pushed towards the Thrust Guide Bush (2). In turn, the Nut ejects 2 Balls from Shell. These Balls gets locked into the slot on the Slotted Hex Nut (3) enabling uniform force distribution as the Flat Countersunk Screw (4) is tightened. These Balls slowly gets pushed into the semi-circular groove in the Thrust Guide Bush (2). This action further secures the Thrust Guide Bush (2) and in turn pulls it in direction towards center of the Shell. Due to this action the Balls in the "V" groove of closed end BOSS (1) aligns on the angled surface of the Shell and evenly spreading along the perimeter of the "V" Groove. Once the Flat Countersunk Screw (4) is tightened appropriately Slotted Hex Nut (3) stops moving as the Balls in the Shell bore would have securely locked in to the Thrust Guide Bush's (2) semi-circular groove. This enables the firm locking mechanism where even in the case of constant vibration the Slotted Hex Nut (3) and Flat Countersunk Screw (4) sub-assembly wouldn't loosen up causing untimely disassembly of the Top Roller. Thus, providing robustness during long operation. In the end applying necessary quantum of grease in bearing zone through center hole of closed end BOSS (1) will ensure further smoother operation for a long period of time.
The foregoing description of the specific embodiments will so fully reveal the general nature of the embodiments herein that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily modify and/or adapt for various applications such specific embodiments without departing from the generic concept, and, therefore, such adaptations and modifications should and are intended to be comprehended within the meaning and range of equivalents of the disclosed embodiments. It is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation. Therefore, while the embodiments herein have been described in terms of embodiments and examples, those skilled in the art will recognize that the embodiments and examples disclosed herein can be practiced with modification within the scope of the embodiments as described herein.
