Abstract
ABSTRACT The investigation of recyclable products has promoted innovation in the utilization of natural dyes and agricultural waste. In this study, natural pigments generated from Aspergillus sp. and citrus peels-a byproduct of the citrus industry-are employed to manufacture a recyclable leather alternative. A combination of d1ying, curing, and tanning processes turned the citrus peels into a substance resembling leather. Brilliant pigments are generated by optimizing the culture of Aspergillus sp. These-pigments were then extracted and purified. lmmersio .. techniques for dyeing were used to apply the following colors to the leather constructed from citrus peel. The Further study will evaluate the color fastness, tensile strength, flexibility, and biodegradability of the final dyed leather. The promising properties of this material highlight its potential applications in the fashion and design industries, aligning with the growing demand for eco-friendly products. Further research into optimizing production processes and scaling up can enhance the commercial viability of this innovative material, contributing to a more sustainable future.
