Abstract
An adjustable drawing ruler holding device comprises of a frame having a cuboidal body 1 developed to be held by a user for positioning the body 1 over a paper sheet, the body 1 is configured with a pair of telescopic rods 2, each integrated with a suction unit 3 for affixing the body 1 over a ruler present over the sheet, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 mapped on the frame and paired with a processor to detect dimensions of the ruler, based on which the rods 2 extend for positioning the rods 2 in contact with the upper surface of the ruler, followed by actuation of the suction unit 3 for securing the body 1 over the ruler, and an angle sensor integrated on the frame for monitoring angle of inclination of the ruler with respect to the sheet.

[0001] The present invention relates to an adjustable drawing ruler holding device that is capable of providing a means to hold a drawing ruler as per dimension of the ruler over a sheet along with orienting the ruler parallel to upper surface of the ruler in order to draw lines over the sheet in appropriate manner.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] A drawing ruler is a tool used in drafting and drawing to create straight lines or to measure distances accurately. It typically consists of a flat, straight edge with markings for measurement along its length. Drawing rulers come in various materials such as wood, plastic, or metal, and they can have different units of measurement marked on them, such as inches, centimeters, or both. They are essential for precise and neat drawings in various fields, including architecture, engineering, graphic design, and art. Holding tools for the drawing rulers makes it easier for the user to focus on drawing or measuring.
[0003] Traditionally, various methods and tools are used to hold the drawing rulers. People use a heavy object, such as a paperweight or a block of wood, is placed at each end of the ruler to hold it steady on the drawing surface. Drawing board clamps and clips are also used to hold the ruler securely in place. While these traditional methods may offer some benefits, but they also pose several challenges and drawbacks. Traditional tools like paperweight do not provide sufficient stability which may led to inaccuracy in drawings due to ruler movement. Also setting up and adjusting traditional holding methods might be time-consuming and cumbersome.
[0004] CN202814347U discloses about an invention which includes a measuring device and a display device which are electrically connected with each other. The display device is provided with a power supply switch. The measuring device includes a fixed ruler and a movable ruler which is arranged on the fixed ruler. The movable ruler slides relative to the fixed ruler. The inside of the fixed ruler is provided with a piece of grating glass. The fixed ruler is in a V-shaped groove structure which stores a to-be-tested tube. The fixed ruler is evenly provided with marks. The movable ruler is provided with reference points which are corresponding to the marks. The grating ruler length measuring instrument possessing the above structure can carry out the accurate blanking, so the problems of blanking tube length inconsistency and low production efficiency are solved, the worker production efficiency is greatly improved, the manpower and the production hours are saved, and the production cost is greatly reduced.
[0005] Conventionally, many devices have been developed that are capable of assisting a user in holding a drawing ruler. However, these devices are incapable of orienting the ruler parallel to the upper surface of the ruler in an automated manner, and fails in assisting a user to draw lines over the sheet in appropriate manner. Additionally, these existing devices also lack in detecting presence of the user's hand over the ruler while the user is drawing lines over the sheet.
[0006] In order to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks, there exists a need in the art to develop a device that is capable of holding a drawing ruler as per dimension of the ruler over a sheet along with orienting the ruler parallel to upper surface of the ruler in order to draw lines over the sheet in appropriate manner. In addition, the developed device should also detect presence of the user's hand over the ruler while the user is drawing lines over the sheet to notify the user regarding the detected alignment/ position of hands.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.
[0008] An object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of holding a drawing ruler as per dimension of the ruler over a sheet along with orienting the ruler parallel to upper surface of the ruler in order to draw lines over the sheet in appropriate manner.
[0009] Another object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of detecting presence of the user's hand over the ruler while the user is drawing lines over the sheet to notify the user regarding the detected alignment/ position of hands.
[0010] Yet another object of the present invention is to develop a device that is reliable in nature.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0012] The present invention relates to an adjustable drawing ruler holding device that is capable of holding a drawing ruler as per dimension of the ruler over a sheet along with orienting the ruler parallel to upper surface of the ruler in order to draw lines over the sheet in appropriate manner. Additionally, the proposed device also provides reliability to the user.
[0013] According to an embodiment of the present invention, an adjustable drawing ruler holding device comprises of a frame having a cuboidal body developed to be held by a user for positioning the body over a paper sheet, the body is configured with a pair of telescopic rods, each integrated with a suction unit for affixing the body over a ruler present over the sheet, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit mapped on the frame and paired with a processor to detect dimensions of the ruler, based on which the rods extend for positioning the rods in contact with the upper surface of the ruler, followed by actuation of the suction units for securing the body over the ruler, an angle sensor integrated on the frame for monitoring angle of inclination of the ruler with respect to the sheet, and in accordance to which the rods extend/retract for orienting the ruler parallel to the surface.
[0014] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the proposed device further comprises of a proximity sensor mapped on the frame and synced with the imaging unit to detect presence of the user's hand over the ruler while the user is drawing lines over the sheet via the ruler, in case the user's hand is in close proximity while drawing lines, a speaker mapped on the frame to notify the user regarding the detected alignment/ position of hands, a moisture sensor mapped on the rod to detect presence of moisture over the sheet, plurality of motorized clippers attached with the rods to adjust position of the ruler, followed by actuation of the speaker to notify the user regarding the detected moisture present on the sheet, and a battery is associated with the device for powering up electrical and electronically operated components associated with the device.

[0021] Referring to Figure 1, an isometric view of an adjustable drawing ruler holding device is illustrated comprising a frame having a cuboidal body 1 configured with a pair of telescopic rods 2, each integrated with a suction unit 3, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 mapped on the frame, a speaker 5 mapped on the frame, and multiple motorized clippers 6 attached with the rods 2.
[0022] The proposed device comprises of frame having a cuboidal body 1 developed to be held by a user for positioning the body 1 over a paper sheet. Herein, the body 1 is configured with a pair of telescopic rods 2, each integrated with a suction unit 3 for affixing the body 1 over a ruler present over the sheet. The rod is equipped with a pneumatic unit that is activated by a microcontroller to provide extension and retraction of the rod. The pneumatic unit comprises of an air compressor, air cylinder, air valves and piston. The air valve that allows entry or exit of the compressed air from the compressor. Furthermore, the valve opens and the compressed air enters inside the cylinder thereby increasing the air pressure of the cylinder. The piston is connected to the cylinder and due to the increase in the air pressure, the piston extends due to which bars extend to press the suction unit 3 with the body 1 in front of the air vent that aids to affix the body 1 over the ruler present over the sheet.
[0023] Further, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 is installed on the frame for detecting dimensions of the ruler. The imaging unit 4 comprises of a camera and processor that works in collaboration to detect the presence and angle of person(s) inside the enclosure installed with the air conditioner. The AI (artificial intelligence) protocols encrypted with the processor linked with the imagining module to enhance its functionality and capabilities. The AI protocols are used to process and analyses the images captured by the camera enabling it to perform various tasks beyond traditional image capturing. The AI analysis is performed locally on the camera itself and the real-time processing on the camera enables immediate responses and faster decision-making.
[0024] The camera, herein captures images of the surrounding with the help of specialized lenses designed to capture high-quality visuals. The captured data is now pre-processed via the processor to enhance its quality and prepare it for AI analysis. This pre-processing involves tasks such as noise reduction, image stabilization, or color correction. The processed data is fed into AI protocols for analysis which utilizes machine learning techniques, such as deep learning neural networks, to extract meaningful information present in the images.
[0025] The camera is capable of analysing the surrounding and providing real-time updates or alerts about the surrounding based on predefined rules or criteria. Herein, based on extraction of the data from the captured images to detect dimension of the ruler. Based on detecting the dimension of the ruler, the microcontroller actuates rods 2 to extend for positioning the rods 2 in contact with the upper surface of the ruler, followed by actuation of the suction unit 3 for securing the body 1 over the ruler.
[0026] An angle sensor integrated on the frame for detecting angle of inclination of the ruler with respect to the sheet. The angle sensor works based on the principle of detecting changes in magnetic fields or optical signals. By analyzing these changes, the angle sensor accurately determines the angle or position of the ruler with respect to the sheet being measured. This information is then further transmitted to the microcontroller in the form of digital signal to analyze and detect angle of inclination of the ruler with respect to the sheet. Based on detection, the microcontroller actuates the rods 2 to extend/retract for orienting the ruler parallel to the surface.
[0027] Further, a proximity sensor is installed on the frame and synced with the imaging unit 4 to detect presence of the user's hand over the ruler while the user is drawing lines over the sheet via the ruler. The proximity sensor employs both inductive and capacitive principles. It employs an oscillating electromagnetic field to induce currents in surrounding of the user causing the capacitance of the sensor to fluctuate. This difference is measured and utilized to identify the presence of the user's hand over the ruler relative to the sensor. Furthermore, the sensor calibrates the fluctuated capacitance to determine the presence of the user's hand over the ruler while the user is drawing lines over the sheet via the ruler
[0028] Upon detecting the presence of the user's hand over the ruler while the user is drawing lines over the sheet, the microcontroller activates a speaker 5 mapped on the frame to notify the user regarding the detected alignment/ position of hands. The speaker 5, herein includes a diaphragm, which is typically made of a lightweight and rigid material like paper, plastic, or metal. It is designed to vibrate and produce sound waves when electrical signals are fed to it. A voice coil (a tightly wound coil of wire) attached with the diaphragm of the speaker 5. The voice coil is suspended within a magnetic gap. When an electrical current flows through the coil, it interacts with the magnetic field produced by the magnet assembly, resulting in a force that moves the coil. The magnet assembly creates a magnetic field within the speaker 5. It consists of a permanent magnet and a metal structure, such as a pole piece or a magnet plate. The magnet assembly provides a fixed magnetic field through which the voice coil moves. The strength and configuration of the magnet assembly influence the performance and efficiency of the speaker 5.
[0029] The cone/diaphragm is connected to the speaker 5's frame via a suspension unit, which includes the surround and spider. When the electrical signal passes through the voice coil, it generates a magnetic field that interacts with the fixed magnetic field produced by the magnet assembly. As the electrical current varies, the magnetic field produced by the voice coil changes, resulting in the voice coil and attached cone/diaphragm moving back and forth. This movement creates pressure variations in the surrounding air, generating sound waves to generate the audible sound to notify the user regarding the detected alignment/ position of hands.
[0030] Moreover, a moisture sensor mapped on the rod to detect presence of moisture over the sheet. The moisture sensor works on the principle of measuring electrical conductivity or capacitance by using probes or electrodes that come in contact with the sheet, and the level of moisture affects the electrical properties of the moisture. By analyzing these changes, moisture sensor accurately determine the moisture level in the sheet. Based on detection, the microcontroller activates the speaker 5 to notify the user regarding the detected moisture present on the sheet.
[0031] Lastly, a battery (not shown in figure) is associated with the device to offer power to all electrical and electronic components necessary for their correct operation. The battery is linked to the microcontroller and provides (DC) Direct Current to the microcontroller. And then, based on the order of operations, the microcontroller sends that current to those specific electrical or electronic components so they effectively carry out their appropriate functions.
[0032] The present invention works best in following manner that includes the frame having a cuboidal body 1 developed to be held by a user for positioning the body 1 over a paper sheet and the body 1 is configured with a pair of telescopic rods 2, each integrated with a suction unit 3 for affixing the body 1 over a ruler present over the sheet. The artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 detects dimensions of the ruler, based on which the microcontroller actuates the rods 2 to extend for positioning the rods 2 in contact with the upper surface of the ruler, followed by actuation of the suction unit 3 for securing the body 1 over the ruler. Also, the angle sensor detects angle of inclination of the ruler with respect to the sheet, in accordance to which the microcontroller actuates the rods 2 to extend/retract for orienting the ruler parallel to the surface. Also, the proximity sensor synced with the imaging unit 4 detects presence of the user's hand over the ruler while the user is drawing lines over the sheet via the ruler, and in case the user's hand is in close proximity while drawing lines, the microcontroller activates the speaker 5 o notify the user regarding the detected alignment/ position of hands. Also, the microcontroller actuates the motorized clippers 6 to adjust position of the ruler, followed by actuation of the speaker 5 to notify the user regarding the detected moisture present on the sheet.

Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternate embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to individuals skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention. , Claims:1) An adjustable drawing ruler holding device, comprising:
i) a frame having a cuboidal body 1 developed to be held by a user for positioning said body 1 over a paper sheet, wherein said body 1 is configured with a pair of telescopic rods 2, each integrated with a suction unit 3 for affixing said body 1 over a ruler present over said sheet;
ii) an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 mapped on said frame and paired with a processor for capturing and processing multiple images of surroundings, respectively to detect dimensions of said ruler, based on which an inbuilt microcontroller actuates said rods 2 to extend for positioning said rods 2 in contact with said upper surface of said ruler, followed by actuation of said suction unit 3 for securing said body 1 over said ruler;
iii) an angle sensor integrated on said frame for monitoring angle of inclination of said ruler with respect to said sheet, in accordance to which said microcontroller actuates said rods 2 to extend/retract for orienting said ruler parallel to said surface;
iv) a proximity sensor mapped on said frame and synced with said imaging unit 4 to detect presence of said user's hand over said ruler while said user is drawing lines over said sheet via said ruler, wherein in case said user's hand is in close proximity while drawing lines, said microcontroller activates a speaker 5 mapped on said frame to notify said user regarding said detected alignment/ position of hands; and
v) a moisture sensor mapped on said rod to detect presence of moisture over said sheet, said microcontroller actuates plurality of motorized clippers 6 attached with said rods 2 to adjust position of said ruler, followed by actuation of said speaker 5 to notify said user regarding said detected moisture present on said sheet.
2) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a battery is associated with said device for powering up electrical and electronically operated components associated with said device.
